Originally from Baie d'Urfée, Tessa is in her late forties, having escaped her fundamentalist family and into the arms of one shit-bag husband, Gordie Tainter. Who also promptly ruined her life in ways she couldn't imagine. When she finally divorced his ass, she fled once more to the small coastal town of Free Harbor, Maine. There she settled into owning her own bookstore, Vivra Verra that gains most of it's business in trashy romance novels and the occasional Oprah's book of the month. In the back is the more occult, the strange, the odd and ominous - trinkets and other oddities she has collected hang in the back, lending to her identity as a new-age nineties woman.
Desperate to appear normal and upstanding, not many know that she is sensitive, capable of connecting into planes and thoughts beyond mortal comprehension, sensitive to spirits, and darker, nastier things that have helped to fuel a nicotine addiction and a constant fight to not down a thing of whiskey when she is bombarded with paranormal phenomenon like alien bugs, poltergeists and the like. She fights it all back with a lit cigarette, thinking herself as above it all but if you so much as tailgate her, she will use her powers of the beyond to crash your car without so much as a second thought.
