Backstory 

-An orphaned Pegasus born just after the three pony races united after millennia of segregation and founded Equestria, left on the door step of Starswirl, the leader of the circle of unicorns whose responsibility was to raise the sun and moon each day

-Aurora was raised by her adoptive father, who was strict and distant

-Throughout her childhood, Starswirl had been attempting to create a spell that would allow him to single-handedly raise the sun and moon, but repeatedly failed. Aurora wanted to help but was constantly told since she wasn’t a unicorn, she would be of no use to them

-Ultimately, one day Aurora discovered she had an innate connection to the sun, and was able to raise it on her own. As she flew into the sky, the sun followed her, creating the dawn.

-This led her to earn her cutie mark, and her unicorn horn, making her the first alicorn in Equestria for millions of years.

-After this, she was trained by Starswirl and the other leaders of Equestria, to one day take over from them and be the sole ruler of the land. 

-Of course, not long after this, a young unicorn filly training to be a member of the circle of unicorns that raised the sun and moon, showed tremendous power and raised the moon single-handedly, earning her own cutie mark and wings.

-The two begrudgingly became ‘sisters’ in their new alicorn state, and trained under Starswirl together, to rule Equestria alongside each other as Princesses of the Sun and Moon respectively 

-After years of Princess training, the two alicorns became close, and considered each other true sisters, and were ultimately crowned leaders together.

-However, Aurora was unaware of the resentment and jealously growing in her sister, that eventually turned her into a villainous mare of darkness.

-Reluctantly, to save her subjects and her kingdom, she had to use the Elements of Harmony to banish her sister away to the Moon.

-From then on, Aurora ruled alone, which for many of her younger years is what she wanted. Now that she had it, she wished for nothing more than her sister to rule alongside her.

Personality

-When she was younger, Aurora was honestly quite bratty, almost a ‘mean girl’ stereotype, and definitely didn’t like it when another pony also became an alicorn.

-As she’s aged though, she’s more of a kooky old lady Grandma type character, very gentle and wise, but can be goofy and silly.

-Very Disney princess, sweet and kind, easy to get along with, which is why her subjects adore her so much.

-Can be a perfectionist, due to the high expectations put on her by Starswirl 

-Prefers to talk things out than fight, but can be formidable when pushed

-Definitely can be a stern, upset mom type when disappointed 

-Loves reading fantasy novels, tea parties, picnics, sunny days at the beach ext

-Overall just a big motherly figure type character
