ELEANOR MONTGOMERY - older sister

Goes by the pseudonym of Ellis. Head of the detective board that Cadence works for, which is always on the brink of bankruptcy. The two of them also live together in an old, ratty apartment in the middle of the city, although she's rarely ever home. She's a hardheaded risk-taker, basically opposites, personality-wise. She cares for Cadence very much but gets involved in countless cons and local gang members in order to make ends meet. This causes her to get more distant from Cadence as they grow older. She became obsessed with the mysterious disappearance of their oldest brother, Dorothy.

DOROTHY MONTGOMERY - older brother (late)

Dorothy was a strong and compassionate man lost to unfortunate circumstances. He was heavily involved in the New York crime scene before his disappearance. He did everything he could to provide for his two younger sisters growing up as the main provider after their parent's death. They all lived together until Dorothy went missing at age 30, when Cadence was 23 and Eleanor was 25. He has since been missing for two years with little to no trace.

CAMILLE ABERDEEN - lover

(siren) Cadence's current partner. Camille is a hermit, working as a marine archeologist for local excavators and living in a lighthouse beside the coastal areas of New York. They met at a bar, mistakingly taking Cadence for a man and making attempts to seduce them, and later kill them, as sirens do. Upon finding out this wasn't the case, she spared their lives, and kept in contact with each other. Cadence would visit often and they inevitably grew quite close.

NATALY ANTEBELLUM - ex-girlfriend

(succubus) A sultry burlesque dancer working a local performance tavern. When Cadence first started working at Ellis' investigation agency, they got involved in a local case regarding the tavern's owner. They both quickly became smitten with each other. They knew she was a demon from the start and it took a while to get over their initial fearfulness. However, their relationship was short-lived and tumultuous, driven by pure lust and falling part bitterly.

ABIGAIL CALIBAR - friend

(vampire) Cadence met Abigail at the abandoned mansion of Saint Calibar, where her family originally lived for several generations. There is a lot of controversy regarding the Caliber lineage and Cadence soon discovers they were a family of vampires and dark magic users. Abigail wishes to help rid the world of their curses, for it is unknown if any other Calibar members actively roam the streets.

MAZRIEL SHOLUTH - lover

(demon) A wealthy businesswoman, and owner of a local speakeasy that hosts burlesque shows. They first meet when Cadence is ordered to investigate her establishment for clues regarding a local murder case. The two of them have a very sensual romantic relationship with one another and remain very close to this day.

DEMORA ASMODEUS - fling

(demon) A local flapper that works for Mazriel under the pseudonym Desdemona Belmont. She and Cadence have a passionate and short-lived fling with each other upon meeting, but still, remain to good friends due to her closeness with Mazriel. Demora also helps Cadence better understand their clairvoyance and often gives them advice regarding supernatural matters.

WHITNEY CALIBAR - enemy

(poltergeist) A ghost that attaches himself to Cadence throughout the beginning of their detective career. He frequently causes problems for them and grows more aggressive as time goes on. It is believed that Whitney was the first heir of the Calibar family, and consequentially cast a curse on Cadence's distant relatives, causing the 'gene' that grants the ability of supernatural clairvoyance.
