Ironwood doesn’t trust easily and expects the worst from everyone. They spend a majority of their spare time keeping out of the rest of the Clan's way, often only lingering among them when he is needed for a task. A general first impression of the fellow might be that he’s an extreme cynic with trust issues, and that assumption wouldn't exactly be wrong. While inclined to keep to himself and his hobbies given the chance, infamous for his sharp tongue and whip-smart quips, he’s been known to intervene if someone needed help and isn't lacking in courage despite his seemingly anti-social attitude.
Ironwood has a poor perception of himself even while pushing a front of stubborn pride. As such, he doesn't know how to deal with sincere friendliness and generosity and will still prove quite prickly even in the face of genuine kindness. An attitude like that rightfully tends to push others away, but should anyone prove persistent enough to stick around, he’ll eventually grow less guarded in that particular individual's presence. He isn't without his talents; nimble, constantly vigilant and possessing quite the green metaphorical thumb. Ironwood has a knack for growing things and maintains many little gardens throughout their forest home.
It isn't rare to find him sitting guard while the others sleep or keeping a close eye on the Clan's younger members. Beneath a tetchy exterior is someone deeply lonely, desperately longing for something to fill the void in their life and to feel important.
