Fallen angel from the birdcage - a military-state location in heaven that mistreats many of the angels who refuse to bow to its regime. After watching Lychee's escape attempt, he realised he no longer wanted to be a pawn of the military, and disappeared during one of his missions to live among the people of Earth. 

He ended up choosing to live in New Sieg, a high-tech locale with a city-wide augmented reality MMO being its main point of intrigue. To play, you wear a mask that's linked to the game world, and thus, you're brought there. The main playerbase is in the PVP community, and this is also where Near plays the most often.

Near's mask is modeled after a deer skull, its antlers adorned with yellow roses.

Near himself is pretty friendly. He tries to help people when he can, and doesn't like to show that he can be vulnerable. Thus, he ends up putting up a front more often than not. He's good at talking to and dealing with people, and has a lot of connections both inside and outside of the bounty hunter collective. Despite all this, he often comes off as cool and cold due to his intimidating appearance. His girlfriend, Koffi, sees past that cool front, however.

He lives by the philosophy that you should never forget someone that you've killed, and be prepared to bear the burden of taking a life if you choose to do so. It's a hard way to live as a gun for hire.

His girlfriend is Koffi, whom he is very protective of. Sometimes, her adventurous spirit scares him, but he refuses to let himself get in her way. He and his friends occasionally assist her with investigating for her articles.
