Born as the runt of the litter, Ira was left behind by his mother. Having to learn how to survive all on his own, he grew with little trust in others.

One day, Ira got caught in one of the traps set up by Pokemon hunters. He was soon found by Sophie, a human girl. Ira was wary of Sophie at first, scratching and biting her to try and resist her help. However, he soon realised she wasn’t going to hurt him, and accepted her help. Sophie took care of Ira secretly, sneaking to the forest everyday on her way home to feed and play with him. They soon became best friends, Sophie being the first and only human Ira would ever trust and depend on. Sophie would talk on and on about her life to Ira, who couldn’t quite understand but loved to listen to her talk nonetheless. Ira loved to make Sophie laugh, often transforming into her or other humans she would show him through pictures.

One afternoon, Sophie failed to notice Ira’s fur stuck to her back. That night, Ira heard the yelling of a man and a young girl from afar. He found this to be strange, since no one should know where his den is besides Sophie. Assuming Sophie was in trouble, Ira rushed to the commotion. What he found at the end of the noises was Sophie, crying and being dragged by her father. Upon seeing Ira, Sophie’s father immediately started yelling and warning him to back off. Sophie shook off her father’s grip and stood in front of Ira to guard him, but Sophie’s father knocked her to the ground. When Ira put on an illusion to scare him away, Sophie’s father threw the lamp he was holding at Ira in shock. Trying to shield Sophie, the lamp shattered on Ira and lit his back on fire. Ira, shocked by the pain, ran far, far away. As Ira ran, rain started pouring, which extinguished the fire. The scar from the burn, however, was left on Ira’s back as a cruel reminder.

Weeks later, Ira mustered up the courage to run into town to find Sophie, but no amount of searching led him to her. What Ira didn’t know was that Sophie had moved away to a different town because of her father. Ira misunderstood this situation, thinking Sophie had also abandoned him like his mother. While Ira was still recovering from the injury, he happened across a Midnight Lycanroc who offered to provide him with food and shelter if he helped them out with a job. Although skeptical, Ira agreed to help as he was struggling to scavenge for food. For a good few years, Ira stayed with the Lycanroc and their gang of pokemon, using his illusions to trick humans and steal food at their request. Ira formed a strong attachment to the Lycanroc and looked up to him, copying their mannerisms and even taking after their physical features when eventually evolving into a Zoroark. During his time with this group, Ira learned about Piers and gained his interest in music. However, Lycanroc’s requests became more and more dangerous as time went on. Until one time his gang left Ira behind to almost be caught by humans and Ira realized his admiration was one-sided and he was only being used for his abilities. Ira left Lycanroc and his gang to be on his own once again.

After that, Ira went back to the forest and hid away from humans and pokemon, only sometimes going out into the town disguised as a human. And on one of the days of going into town, he meets two very special “people”...

Unlike most Zoroark, Ira isn’t much of a trickster. He prefers solitude and is rather standoffish to strangers. He struggles with social cues and showing his emotions so most of the time anything he says comes out as aggressive, even when he doesn’t mean it. It takes a long time to gain Ira’s trust, and he only gives his utmost trust to a special few. He tends to be very overprotective of his loved ones, which can be overwhelming for some but those who know him understand where he's coming from. He’s usually seen putting on his human illusion, because he doesn’t like his Zoroark form as it reminds him of his past. He spends most of his time in the forest alone, but sometimes goes out into town to indulge in human activities.
