Altruistic • Soft • Hardworking
Emmeranne is a serious and quiet Eastern Witch. She have a complex about her eyes (she think people hate her because of her empty and dull eyes) thus it make her avoid having a direct eye contact with the others.
She also did everything she can do to help others, to the point its overwork herself. Because being useful make her happy. It reassures her that she hasn’t yet to be abandoned by society. That’s why she doesn’t mind to take her workmates’ work and stay up late in their stead. Leaving a terrible dark circles under her eyes in the process.
Emmeranne thinks love is a luxury, something out of her reach and something she doesn’t deserve to have, just like how she feel “weird” to sleep on her own bed and prefer to sleep beneath it (she also think she doesn’t deserve her own bed, she think bed is for human or an important figure so someone like her doesn’t count). When she know there’s someone out there loving her unconditionally, she will do and give everything to that person (sometimes this lead to her doing extreme things, like making a promise, for the example), as a thank you for loving her and as a proof that she’s worthy to accept those love (and out of fear of being abandoned if she can’t give her everything to those person).
Like other eastern wizards, she’s also sensitive with her surroundings. Even she’s willing to sleep anywhere as long as it’s a narrow space (like inside of kitchen cabinets, inside a wardrobe, or beneath the table), she’s easily awaken by others footstep or presence.

Early days in poorhouse (cw // food choking , death , accidental murder)
As long as she can remember, Emmeranne grew up in Eastern Country poorhouse facility. She got the “If I want to be accepted I must be useful for society” mindset from those place. At first she doesn’t understand that there is a different entity called “wizard”, but she do feels that she’s different.
Has been altruistic since a child, she don’t mind to sleep beneath the bed instead because of lack of accommodation there. With her magic, she cleaned those dirty place and find her place to belong to. Some insect or other rubbish she found there would be teleported to another place, thus teleporting things become her magic specialty. Later, those narrow space beneath the bed become her mana area.
Because of hostility toward wizard in the eastern country, she learned to hide her identity as wizard when she met another wizard in the poorhouse. A boy that later called as Shino Sherwood. She doesn’t find the meaning to escape from those place like Shino does, but she hope Shino would succeeded.
She once secretly tried to help other poorhouse child that chocked on their food, believing that her magic finally could be useful. But Emmeranne cannot controlled her magic, killed those child instead. Because she did it secretly, no one know that those child died because of Emmeranne’s magic and not from food choking. But those incident left a guilt and trauma for Emmeranne, make every food she ate with others feels suffocating and she prefer to eat alone.
Emmeranne, the City of Rain city hall worker
Because of her hardworking nature and her beautiful handwriting, her hard work days in the poorhouse has been acknowledged and she got an offer to work in the city hall. Being good citizen as she is, Emmeranne immediately accepted that offer. She still hide her identity as wizard and work diligently everyday. Her favorite place to eat is Nero’s restaurant and she become accuaitance with the owner.
As City of Rain citizen, she also happen to be there when the basilisk incident happened (mahoyaku 1.5 Main Story/1st anniversary story; City of Rain spot episode reference). Her admiration to those sage wizards grows as she could see them clearly fighting the monster amidst the acidic rain.
She finally have a chance to know more about sage wizards when visiting her acquaintance’s marriage in some village in Eastern Country (June Bride 2022 event reference). There, she helped sage wizards with their investigations and formed a deeper connection with them. Later, she always try to help them anytime she can if sage wizards need something for their mission or investigation in Eastern Country. Until later on, she could move to Magic Manor in Central Country because of some circumtances.
- She like Risotto because it's the first warm and the most delicious food she can eat after being free from the poorhouse.
- Everything that she cooked ended up being too soggy or mushy.
- At first she can't use attack magic properly because she doesn't want to hurt people, but once she promised to protect someone important to her, she started using attack magic and become pretty good with it (she changed her fighting style because of this).
- When feel sleepy, she will search nearby narrow spaces to huddle in sleep.
- Because eating with others remind her of suffocating days and that incident in the poorhouse (see her story), she couldn't eat with everyone and just eat quietly in the corner or in her room.
She thinks Faust is cool, from his attire, room, and appearance. He’s her role model; Idolized the current curseworker Faust; one of her wish is to sleep under faust’s bed.
While often interacting with Lennox's sheep, Emmeranne get to know more about Lennox and develop some feelings. In the process, Lennox also constantly remind Emmeranne that she deserve to be happy and to be loved. Thus Lennox's presence become a simple happiness in Emmeranne's life.
She once met Shino in the poorhouse. Genuinely care for the boy, she often gave him her food. Shino thinks Emmeranne passed the category to be the future Blanchett mistress. Emmeranne reject the offer politely.
Nero understand Emmeranne's struggle in eating so he always hope Emmeranne stop giving her meals to others. Since become a regular in Nero's restaurant in the City of Rain, Emmeranne always be grateful for warm food that Nero introduce to her.
As Faust's students in magic, they often share their notes to each other. Sometimes Emmeranne also help Heathcliff in doing some bureaucracy in Blanchett castle.
