  • Name: Copper Medena
  • Occupation: Graphic Designer/Illustrator
  • Hobby: Pokemon Foster Parent
  • Age Range: Late 20's

About:

  • Bio: Copper works as a designer for a regional Pokemon Adoption Center, designing their materials and website.  She's very passionate about Pokemon, but not as a Trainer.  She isn't a big fan of competitive training, as it leads to many Pokemon being abandoned as unfit for high-level fighting.  She is, however, a firm believer in the power of Pokemon as companions and in the power of the Pokemon-Trainer relationship to empower both parties.  As a predictable side effect of working for an Adoption Center, Copper is almost always fostering at least one Pokemon, often more. She likes to teach the Pokemon in her care helpful moves that have non-battle applications.  Most of the Pokemon she has are foster failures.
  • Side Hustle: While staggeringly shy in person, Copper is quite comfortable interacting online and has an eye for design and photography.  She runs a popular Pokegram page and merch shop dedicated to her adventures as a Pokemon fosterer and her resident foster failures.  She has a healthy fandom that keeps her coffers filled with Pokedollars for the care and upkeep of her Pokemon fosters and funds the inevitable home repairs required when you have problems like a Fire Pokemon with a head cold . . . flaming sneezes are nothing to, uh, sneeze at.
  • Personality: Copper is very shy, preferring to talk to Pokemon over people.  She does a lot of work over the internet, just to keep her anxiety levels down.  She's extremely polite and well-mannered, finding comfort in protocol.  (She enjoys dressing up for the same reason.)  Her main Pokemon, Moogi, is a big help with her shyness, always keeping an eye on Copper and quick to bring a cup of tea when Copper looks particularly frazzled.  Copper's a bit oblivious when it comes to attraction, it often falls to her friend Ena to ward off would-be suitors who don't get the hint.
  • Attire Notes: Copper tends to dress to match whatever Pokemon she's currently fostering, so her wardrobe frequently changes.  Her cute little apron is only for when she's grooming a Pokemon (an activity she finds calming.)
  • Note for Artists: If drawing Copper you're free to pick from any of the outfits shown here  or devise your own!  If making up your own outfit for her, please keep  in mind that Copper always has a hairpiece (headband, bow, scarf, etc.)  and only wears skirts, dresses, or tunics.  No pants or shorts (unless  with a skirt or dress on top.)

Friends:

  • Ena Foley: (nickyflamingo) Copper's brash ex-roommate and sometimes houseguest is bold where Copper is mild, but they get along perfectly.  Copper knows the difference between Ena's basic bluster and when she's really upset and is always ready with some lollipops or chewy candies when Ena's having a rough day and needs a nibble.  While Ena keeps a protective eye out for Copper, Copper often goes behind Ena's back to smooth any feathers that Ena may have inadvertently ruffled.  (Feathers Ena meant to ruffle, Copper lets be.)  She even lends a helping hand with Ena's guitar business, taking care of customer service replies as Ena's particular brand of honesty and hurricane (dis)organization just won't do.  While she may not say it in words, Copper enjoys having Ena around.  Of course, the fact that Copper made a point of buying a couch that flips out into a full-size bed and a set of purple and green linens says more than Copper would ever need to.  Pokemon Trainer Ena Foley Profile
  • Murder Cactus: Ena's constant companion is a favorite of Copper's.  Copper makes a point of keeping treats around for MC and always gives him run of the garden when he visits.  (See Ena's profile for more.)
Pokemon:

Copper has a rotating crew of foster Pokemon thanks to her job, but she also has a handful of "foster failures" that live with her full-time. Since she fosters Pokemon, you can draw her with just about any sort you like! If you want to draw her with one of her standard babes, here's her list of adopted Pokemon:

Mermaid Version:

Whether AU or just an interesting application of Dive Ball technology, there is a Mer!version of Copper (thanks to nickyflamingo for making her!)  As a mermaid, Copper has a Lumineon-themed bikini top and corresponding tail.  She keeps the glasses on underwater because, uh, mermaid magic.
