Nariko Maeda

Nariko always had the accuracy of a sharpshooter before she was even allowed a real gun. She won carnival games and shooting games with ease and was a natural when she picked up an actual gun. Nariko was raised by a single dad and is the oldest of his four children, consisting of two brothers and one sister. Nariko’s dad was extremely proud of his daughter but was upset he could not supply the second parent figure in her life since her late mother died when she was only three. 

Nariko grew short-tempered with kids her age and would try to fight anyone who bullied another person, which almost would never turn out well and would need to be dug out of trouble by her father when she got in deep enough trouble. Nariko also tends to jump the gun on things and tends to jump right into things headfirst without realizing that she may need to ask questions to know what is going on.

Killing Surprise

During the killing surprise, Nariko spends the most time with the ultimate hunter as well as the ultimate illusionist, Yu. Nariko and Yu both had taken an interest in each other's talents and were teaching each other small tricks of the other’s trade. While spending this time with Yu, Nariko gains feelings for the small illusionist, respecting her and her skills. But this is short lived when Yu is a victim of the game’s double murder and throws Nariko for a loop. She is extremely pissed that someone would do something like this to a person so gentle and who just wanted to entertain the others.

When she learns who the blackened is during the trial Nariko practically goes berserker mode and pulls out her gun, ready to shoot the blackened right there. She is angrily yelling at him saying how Yu didn’t deserve this and that she could’ve loved Yu, but no her life was cut short by a cannibal who has no respect for human life. Yoko is able to pull her back, the candlemaker’s comforting demeanor helping Nariko gain control of herself again right as the execution is about to begin.
