Kat has heterocromia with one eye brown and the other greenish/grey. They live in the West area of Amestris in a small city near the south. They live with their mother, father and an older sister. Their father work as a farmer, and their mother doesn't have a job but tries to help out her husband as best as she can. Since she doesn't have a job she dedicates her time to study alchemy and teaches it to her daughters too. Kathrin and their sister Amelie have 3 years of difference and they like to play together and learn Alchemy with their mom. One day there was a huge and sudden storm but Kathrin and Amelie were outside and a lightning stroke on a tree near them falling on Kathrin left arm, Amelie called out for help but their family couldn't hear because of the storm so Amelie tried to get off the tree with alchemy and it worked. They got back home and thier family was shocked about what happened, after the storm they called a doctor but he couldn't save Kathrin's arm. When the storm happened Kathrin was 11 and Amelie 14. Kathrin decided to ask for an automail since the doctor talked about it and so they left with their mother to got to Rush Valley. 2 years passed and Kathrin had a new left arm so they went back to their home town and Amelie and their father were very happy to see them again. Another year passes and Kathrin began to realize that they were trans, then getting to the conclusion to be non binary. Their family was supportive to the news.... Their sister was a little confused at first but she realized that it wasn't really important what gender their sibling was. So from now on Kathrin's name will be just Kat and at age 16 they decided to travel to learn more about Alchemy and themselves.
