BLUE JESUS
Byakuren Johdo is a very spiritually inclined Auri conjurer who greatly appreciates the elemental's gifts, though he's hardly inclined to use his skills of conjury in battle or healing. He spends most of his time harvesting plants for sewing projects and taking in the natural landscapes of Eorzea in solitude.
Occasionally, Byakuren can be seen getting into mischief with his friends, showing an almost unholy casualness that clashes with his usual self. This, along with his refusal to talk about his life before moving to Gridania to become a conjurer, casts an uneasy shadow of what his previous life may have entailed. And yes - he insists - you can call him by his initials, "BJ". Some say it stands for "Blue Jesus"...

Backstory
Basically Byakuren is my WoLy-kun and I;m only just starting Stormblood and I haven't decided everything for his lore..... Hi....... I think it makes more sense that he would be a friend & comrade of the Warrior of Light rather than the WoL in particular. He's simply one hell of a white mage.
Name
Byakuren Johdo or 浄土白蓮 Jōdo Byakuren is a very specifically chosen name. My man BJ thought the classism with Raen surnames was weird so he went his own way and chose the surname 浄土 Jōdo, which can loosely translate to "pure land," especially regarding the Buddhist paradise of Amitabha. 白蓮 Byakuren translates as "white lotus" or "pure heart."
Altogether, you're supposed to read his name as ridiculously religious and over-the-top sounding. That's why you insists you call him his initials BJ to stay casual. 😎
