This elusive beast is only one of the many critters that roam the night. Known as Night Crawlers or Chirps (due to the high pitched clicking/chirping sound they produce) these creatures are the scourge of farmers. The Night Crawlers have taken advantage of the abundance of livestock brought on by urbanization. They will eat just about anything they can get to, from dogs to chickens, and even unattended small children. While Clickers aren’t very large, just over 4 feet when standing, they are fast and move soundlessly. All Clickers have milky white eyes that reflect light. Their eyes are almost entirely useless, only to pick up subtle changes in light. They rely on smell and their ability to echo locate, which is where the clicking sound comes from. Active almost solely at night, these creatures make their roosts in abandoned buildings, roofs, caves, sewers, mine shafts, and anywhere else they can rest undisturbed during the day. At night they emerge to feast and cause general mayhem. While they do have large leathery wings, they cannot fly. Instead they use their wings to glide and the two dexterous wing thumbs as an extra boost for climbing. Their tails are prehensile and are often used for balance and for grabbing. Their fingers are long, tipped with sharp claws. You do not want to get bit by these things. Not only do they have nasty, thick teeth, but their saliva contained a bacteria that can make someone unpleasantly sick. Not life threatening mind you, but you won‘t be having a good time.
