Kelly

--APPEARANCE--

Kelly is small and thin and often walks with her head down, as if hoping to take up less space than she already does. She has long, dark brown hair with a middle part, usually worn down. Her skin is pale, and she's covered in freckles.

Her clothing style is casual and somewhat drab, but on good days she'll add more accessories or wear a striped, long sleeve shirt under her gray t-shirt. She almost always wears jeans and is never seen without converse sneakers. (She has a red pair and a black pair.) I'd say her style is grungy if you had to put a label on it.

At school she often carries around her guitar case. Her school backpack is full of crumpled up failed tests, assorted leaking pens, and at least one lined notebook exclusively reserved for writing down chord progressions. She likes to put stickers on things.

--PERSONALITY--

In general, Kelly is shy, but she wishes this wasn't the case. Although she is normally nervous and pessimistic, she has an adventurous and even confident side, especially when she's playing her guitar. Her friends sometimes get annoyed by her cautious nature, but they've come to accept that about her. They also respect her good qualities like her passion for music and her creativity. Kelly is loyal and has a great deal of love for her friends.

Her parents and teachers have been saying since elementary school that Kelly is insecure and struggles with poor self image. She admires that her friends are outgoing and speak their minds, but she doesn't see herself ever becoming that cool. People describe her as a pushover who keeps her head down, but she does have some anger hidden below the surface, and it can come out at interesting times.

--BACKSTORY--

Kelly's family relocated a lot throughout her early life, but her family moved to Philadelphia shortly before she started kindergarten. She was always a bit of an outsider in school, often keeping to herself and sitting in the back of the classroom. Her mother and father were strict and conservative with a distain for the kinds of things she was into, espeically rock music and the fact that she's gay. They weren't tolerant of people who differed from their rigid ideal of the "perfect" American nuclear family.

Kelly's one true love is and always has been music and her guitar. She always found it easier to express herself through that than actually talking to people. Nothing good ever seemed permanent for her, but she has always had her music, and it's gotten her through every hard thing that's happened to her.

She began life as a Pico's School/FNF/Newgrounds oc, and she still is, I guess kind of in an "AU" setting. But she has transcended Pico's setting and also exists in her own story... I'd say she also exists across multiple stories— I kinda just put her into whatever I'm working on at the time lol.

• She's a lesbian. Her parents aren't accepting of this fact.
• She likes post punk and goth music, especially Joy Division, The Cure, and The Sisters of Mercy. Seeing as goth is a music subculture, she is technically goth, although she doesn't wear goth fashion. She doesn't have enough energy to dedicate to the look every morning. However, she admires people who do.
