rhuby is a modern-day kitsune, living in society around humans-- who entirely fascinate her. she spends her time traveling the world, meeting all kinds of new people and appreciating the world for what it is.
on the side she grows her own weed(among other fruits and veggies), bakes(oftentimes creating weed confections), and tries out all sorts of arts; rhuby wants to participate in creation the same way that real people do.
most others know rhuby as the local slightly offputting hippie, though she is generally accepted in whatever communities she joins.
outwardly, rhuby is known to be quiet, kind, welcoming-- if a bit offputting. she regularly invites strangers into her home and tends to be entirely unaware of social norms or expectations. she somewhat interviews others, happy to learn all that she can about the ways of various humans.
if people knew rhuby's inner self, they would call her downright cunning-- a textbook sociopath, they'd say. she rarely feels any emotion that isn't contentment, but is very comfortable with faking such to get what she wants. at worst she's manipulative, but truly rhuby's intentions are never malicious. she simply wants to learn and doesn't see what may be wrong in her means to an end.
- rhuby's known by a number of nicknames: rhu, rhub, rhubarb. all are plays on her name.
- she regularly makes people fall in love with her, totally by accident. it's become tradition for rhuby to let confessors down gently and send them off with a kiss on the cheek and some kind of baked food.
- should anybody ask about rhuby's unusual eye color(s) or strange demeanor, she just shrugs and brushes off any further questions like that.
- there's a reason why her right eye is always hidden. you don't need to know it, nor does anyone, but there is a reason.
- if you want a better feel for rhuby's personality, in my head she's like a milder 'rose quartz'(steven universe)
- she has a backstory.. ish. it's just really half-baked and honestly rhuby is one of those characters who doesn't need one to be complete.
