Her parents were thugs but when they died her rich grandparents took her in, once she swore she'd never follow in their footsteps. Since moving to the They-Don't-Realize-HOW-Gifted School she's dyed a strip of purple into her hair and gotten tons of piercings on one ear. Overall still a beautiful, preppy girl but she's really pumped to be on a search and rescue team, especially since she can use her ability. Which is to create magical shields around entire groups, and even buildings, full of people. Of course the smaller scale the shield the stronger it is. In highschool she did the whole popular guy with the popular girl thing. Changing schools was the perfect thing to wake her up--she finally realized what a douche he was. He started dating another girl, on the down low, before she even officially left. Her friends texted that to her later, not to mention it was all over the internet. Shiori was barely able to be heartbroken over it but she felt bad about herself for a long time. Now she's careful not to be boy crazy though when she's with her friends she gets drawn in...  The rest of her life is pretty normal for a teenage girl. Only, she still has to answer to her grandparents so she is careful to keep her grades up. This school doesn't give her a free pass just because of her powers, she still has to put in the work. She's actually grateful for that pressure. In her spare time she tutors other students who struggle with the pressure, though.
