  • Her pupils are small dots in comparison to most mobian designs.
  • She has a faint red-orange ring around the edge of her iris.
  • All material on her is matte or matte-ish, apart from her goggles, anything red, and the gem on her forehead implant.

Whirl is a whirlwind of a young woman. She's never been considered "normal" for one moment of her life. She sees opportunities for fun in any situation, and becomes uninterested immediately if something no long feels fun to her. She lives for excitement and new experiences, and has no real moral alignment; if needed to choose a side for any reason, she will obviously go with whoever seems the most fun and/or interesting.

She's quite destructive, and finds it entertaining to break things apart and see what they become as "new things", including technology, buildings, organic things, etc. Whirl is quite childish and immature, never really having a reason or need to grow up as a person.

Background
Childhood

Whirl was born into a mountain village of people who were often gifted with wind powers at birth. She had a hard time learning to use her own, and was bullied by other children for her lack of innate knowledge of her powers and clumsiness, and looked down on by many adults, usually elders, for not fitting the mold. Out of nowhere, it suddenly clicked in her mind, like a spark between two wires, and her abilities activated for the first time. She was a nightmare to her fellow villagers, extremely destructive and uncaring of what damage she caused. It got worse and worse, and Whirl got stronger and stronger, until she one day manifested a cyclone so strong, it acted as a hurricane and flattened her village. No one had ever seen anything like it, or knew why she ended up this way.

Everyone fleed, terrified of her, including her family. Elders called her "cursed", and decided she had to be left behind for the safety of the rest of the villagers. She was chained to a metal gate so she could not follow as everyone ran to rebuild and escape her. Whirl was incredibly strong, but she didn't have enough of a grasp on her abilities to use them to escape, so she was stuck there, alone in the ruins of her home.

Inhibited

The sudden surge of power from whirl was picked up by GUN, monitoring for anomalies, and a unit was dispatched to investigate. Whirl was found by the GUN agents, and after she was determined to be the source of the surge, she was taken in by them. Experimented on throughout her childhood, Whirl didn't have any strong feelings one way or another about the whole ordeal. She didn't percieve things the way most people did, and was just happy to have a place to stay! It was a bit of a weird house...lots of metal and technology and stuff she never had growing up, but she liked it! Everyone was pretty nice to her, which was new, so she had no reason to leave.

When it was determined that there was no natural way for Whirl to control her powers, she was given her forehead implant. She didn't remember the surgery that much, she sort of just woke up with a fan implanted in her head and went on with her day, accepting it easily. What really happened was that her powers went so out of control in a test that she almost ended up killing herself, nearly breaking her neck and putting herself in a coma. She was given internal cybernetic implants; her spine was fitted with metal to keep it safer from sudden, strong impacts, and her brain was fitted with computer-like "enhancements" that would allow an inhibitor to be compatible with her body. The fan-like implant on her forehead mostly acts as a cooling system for her now computer implanted brain, but also as a warning for when she's close to going out of control; the green gem in the middle will glow red when she pushes herself too far, and in theory, should knock her out with a controlled shock.

With the inhibitor in place, the experiments continued once Whirl recovered fully. She was unable to reach her near lethal strength that she had before, but she could get pretty close. This was good, as it meant that the GUN scientists no longer had to worry about Whirl breaking her body against a wall on accident, but it also meant that they had to way of testing if the controlled shock would actually work...they just had to hope for the best. Unfortunately for them, Whirl was getting bored. She liked all the people who worked with her, for the most part, but doing the same stuff every day over and over was soooo boring!! While she had been fitted with an inhibitor, it wasn't remotely controlled by GUN, and upon realizing this, Whirl got very excited.

Free Spirit

After breaking out of the facility she was living at (not before she said goodbye to all of her friends, of course!), Whirl was finally free to explore the world. No more boring village she wasn't allowed to leave!! No more more experiments!! For the first time in her life, Whirl could do whatever she wanted.

She made her home in the ruins of her village, though she's not there for too long too often. She's a traveler at heart, and wants nothing more than to see the world and all the fun things it has in store, even if she has to make the fun herself! but that's ok, she's got lots of pent up energy and all the time in the world to figure out how to use it. But more than anything, she's excited to make new friends!

ABILITIES

EYE OF THE STORM


The implant in Whirl's head. It keeps her abilities controlled from her wild outbursts and immense strength. It whirs and spins like a computer fan when in use, and sometimes when she's excited or embarrassed.

EYE OF THE STORM: CATEGORY 1-5


Her strongest attack shares the name of her implant. She can create a strong, hurricane-like spiral of wind around her, it's strength increasing based on what Category she decides to use. "CATEGORY: 1" would be more like a strong pull with noticably higher winds, whereas "CATEGORY: 5" is on an almost devastating level

AEROKINESIS


Whirl was born with incredibly strong Aerokinetic abilities which she can use in various ways. She has many basic, unnamed Aerokinetic attacks, but listed below are her strongest, named attacks that have a specific form and style:

AERROW
  • Whirl's main attack, an arrow made of rapidly spinning air.
AIR-BOOST
  • Whirl can give herself a boost with air and leap into the air and reach great heights, or use it to speed up in short bursts by moving air through her shoes, similar to Shadow's Air Shoes. She can only give her self quick boosts into the air, however, as her wind abilities are only strong enough to propell her upwards, she can't defy gravity or her own weight.
ATMOS-SPHERE
  • A "shield" formed from Whirl creating a barrier of spiraling winds around her, it can repel attacks and anything being hurled her way.
EQUIPMENT/GEAR

RING GOGGLES


Goggles made from Power Rings for enhanced vision. She can zoom in with them like a sniper scope without having to touch them, and sometimes sees 'magical things' that can be easily missed by the naked eye.

WEIGHTED BOOTS


For heavy kicks and not getting blown away. Although Whirl already weighs much more than an average Mobian of her size, her winds can still get strong enough to lift her off the ground when the fighting gets more intense, so these help keep her anchored.

AIR JETS
  • Too keep her from being weighed down completely, she can funnel air passively into jets built into her shoes. Similar to Shadow's Air Shoes. This allows her to temporarily hover a few centimeters off the ground, get extreme (but short) bursts of speed, or propell herself upwards with a super jump. However, while they increase her base running speed when in use, she cannot match Shadow's speed.

Trivia
  • Her eyes automatically adjust to Night Vision mode when they detect a certain amount of darkness due to her cybernetic implants. When she's exposed to light again, she loses vision as it turns to white while re-adjusting back to normal. Because of this, rapidly flickering lights trigger an epileptic response in her.
  • She's shorter than most wolves her age, as the inorganic implants in her spine and brain stunted her growth before she reached her full height.
  • Her birthday is June 1st, as that's often when hurricane season begins.
