hes a jindo who was a good boy but he lived in a bad household. He escaped his home but got ran  over. it happened to pass by some researchers who took him back. 

they applied AI to him to be more 'humanlike'
he runs away again, this time for good.

the scientists can still see though his eye... they’re looking for him
