baien
The god of Origin - headstrong, stubborn and dangerously self-absorbed - Baien is possibly one of the worst gods to be the saint of. He enjoys order, conformity and reversion to simple principles and structures due to his constant exposure to the world's complexity, and won't hesitate to shove his saint into a tiny box for his own comfort and peace of mind.
He is intolerant, irritable and often considered senile by other members of the group, such as Saga. However, he is sharp and knows exactly what he's doing - forced isolation and ostracism is a free pass to doing whatever you want.

Trivia
- He can remember almost everything that's ever happened to him, apart from being born.
- He sees the genetic code of every organism, and if he's close enough to them, can delve into their minds.
- His voice is very gentle and easy to listen to.

Design Notes
- He glows from inside, with the edges of his body seeming darker.
- In his cloud form, he usually doesn't have eyes unless he's expressing strong emotions.
- There are usually three Skrunglies, but sometimes there is just one - when he's low on power and wants to conserve energy
- When he arrives at his home, he takes on a new form - a larger version of his "true" form, with added tufts and white markings.
Background
Spat out of nothing and cast into the darkness, Baien was called to action when the first organism evolved. He was essentially born out of spite, an unwanted by-product of progress, instantly adopted by Reithe as one of his own.
He spent the next 2 billion or so years being bounced from domain to domain, from race to race, power dwindling. Eventually, he became confined to a particular area of the Congo - once underwater, now a sheltered cove close to the river's mouth.
And here, he was prepared to live out his final days, forgotten by everyone and everything...until a creature washed up on the shores of his home. He took a gamble, rehabilitated the Australopithecine creature, named 'Munirah' (Maria), and the two formed a bond.
She realised that Baien's home was safe, and brought more and more early humans to settle there, eventually becoming his saint.
