Griffin

Born to an elite family, her 4 siblings all had incredible talents unmatched by others. Her mother would attempt to teach her traditional magic, but little Griffin was drumming on the desk and couldn't focus. Her father tried to teach her swordsmanship, but she'd never bother to practice. Eventually, they gave up, and Griffin became a shadow besides her overachieving family. She got used to taking up as little space as possible, writing little songs far away from the house so no one would hear them. That was until a disaster struck. An earthquake shook their underground home, destroying buildings in it's wake. As the family were attempting to escape, their house collapsed and Griffin was trapped inside. Weighing the options, her family left her behind.

A group of thieves, hoping to loot after the disaster, found a young Griffin still in what was left of her old home. One couple in the group decided to adopt her. They did not get along at first, as she resented them when they tried to teach her about stealing and combat. But when they discovered Griffin's talent for channeling magic through music, they encouraged it instead and allowed her power to grow. Her new family knew they couldn't fix her, but they did their best to push her in the right direction after everything that had happened. When Griffin was coming of age, her adoptive dad was bitten by a strange monster. The venom made him very ill, and Griffin tried her best to care for him alongside her adoptive mother. Eventually, her father gave her his old coat and they told her to live her life as an adventurer, instead of wasting her youth nursing a dying thief. She was heartbroken, but finally departed in hopes of finding a cure. No one had ever seen a monster like the one that bit him, but eventually her travels brought her to work alongside William Horatio, the self-proclaimed "Future Master of Time," who believed that the venom may be related to the strange fluctuations in temporal energy happening lately...

The two of them are traveling together when they find two men washed up on the beach without their memories. The four of them form a party of sorts, trying to solve the mystery behind these strange occurances in time that have brought them together. After some misadventures, they meet with a celestial being hailing control over space. She tells them of strange artifacts that have control over the flow of time have grown impure. The artifacts were created by a group not unlike theirs, that the celestial was once a part of. One of them, the Disgraced Prince, absorbed a massive amount of temporal energy during the creation, making him reincarnate after death to watch over the artifacts. That person, the Hero, was now Griffin.
