Despite a harsh life on the fringes of society, Crawdad is a kind soul. He knows pain. He knows loneliness. He knows sorrow. And he knows he never wants anyone else to experience what he did. Crawdad never expected to become a Bigwings--he never even expected to even have siblings--but he is a natural for the job. Crawdad's love and loyalty to his adopted sibs are unmatched. He does his best to lead them well, keeping them safe in a dangerous and uncaring world.

• though albino from birth, it was his lack of siblings that really ostricized him from MudWing society. no one knows why only his egg hatched. whispers of an aminus curse followed him through his youth
• spent some time as an unwilling roadside attraction
• met Bantam first, then Fen, and finally Delta
• doesn't think much into the future, beyond keeping his family safe, but has aspirations to one day live in a settlement like Possibility
