Ever since the beginning of the Shinra Company, the Giswold family has sent all the children born from the descendants or, close relatives to the main branch, to the Shinra and made them work as agents in different categories: military, scientifically, marketing, or even medically wise. A Glorious future is facing them, as entrepreneurs for the wealthiest. Mera is the third child of a couple who's the father was the bearer of the Giswold heritage, therefore, it’s no news if his offspring would sooner or later join our noble cause. They eventually did. Abel Giswold joined the military. We have integrated Victoria into the medical field as a nurse, and Mera became a trainee amongst the TURKS recruits. About January, Hojo decided what to do with her, to which President Shinra gave his consent.

The young Mera became a part of Hojo’s experiments to create a new type of Super-Turk (project T.) Supposed to bring a new type of agent amongst the TURKS team to protect from close to both the President and the borders of our lands. Miss Giswold has grown alongside the SOLDIER First Class Sephiroth, and inevitably, the two became friends as they were only two kids in the same boat. Later on, her father died alongside his wife in results of the bombings from the Wutai.

These events pleaded to Abel’s enlistment into the military of the Shinra whilst January went to the labs of Professor Hojo to become the first participant of the NEW SOLDIER project. By the age of 18, Mera officially joined the TURKS and got her first mission in helping Sir Reeve Tuesti to eliminate the rebels from the Sector 7th. (However, we never had confirmation from close or far concerning how this mission has ended, as they deleted the reports.)

Mera’s cooperation with Sephiroth was so successful that they’d even started teaming up frequently. Which led Director Lazarus to discuss of the importance between the TURKS and the SOLDIERS as colleagues. Prior to the G catastrophe, our agent also contributed to the close protection of Aerith Gainsborough, in disguise. Our geopolitical consultants advised us to send both Angeal Hewley and Mera Giswold to the Wutai as a disguised couple to cool down the tensions. This mission included the saving and safety of our hostage: the Green Emerald.

After their comeback, Sephiroth announced her sister’s unfortunate passing from the experiments, which her body couldn’t have taken any longer. Not long after, it was Abel who vanished from Gaia’s surfaces under weird circumstances. Only Victoria and Mera remained, and loved ones could both certify how bad their relationship was.

The betrayal of Mera came from her pregnancy involving our agent, Reno. A short-long story that’d be resumed into a secret, yet impossible, love that’ll give us the obligation to punish the responsible. Hojo operated Mera in order to abort the child from the womb, but what we discovered is that the baby was eight months far. Pregnancy deny. A bigger procedure has been planned, and Mera had to stop working for a couple of months. At least, long enough to recover. Which sped up through the help of Sephiroth, who brought a materia. /p>

That did not keep the child, of not getting past the following weeks.

We also recorded it with proofs that Agent Mera Giswold has joined Angeal’s cause and worked for him to help during the attacks of Genesis Rhapsodos. Zack Fair did not agree with her statement of how good the world would become if the Shinra fell from its high grounds. Our infiltrated discovered that Sephiroth did not follow our orders, which were to either execute or denounce the TURKS. Because of his rank and doings, we weren’t able to downgrade him.

2007-2011

After the death of Fair, my training became harder, and I did witness for the search of Mera throughout Gaia. Captain Tseng wanted her, dead or alive. Mainly because her participation would give us answers about the projects of Avalanche and Sephiroth. Her house in Costa del Sol is inhabited, and her flat went abandoned. Reno told me they broke up soon after their offspring’s death. How unfortunate, but it’s the law of being a TURK. I don’t know what Reno thinks about this, he never speaks out. I think he wants to forget.

After the Geostigmats Outbreak, Mera went away all over again, following Reno’s savings from the trio. Damn, I wonder where she is. That woman leaves the traces behind her… Reno must be determinate to get her back to Edge…

After being found by Reno but eventually giving up definitely on being a TURK or the possibility to take back her post, Mera teams up with Genesis for a long while before the latter joins DeepGround because of his connection to the organization. Mera ultimately disagree with his choice, but both decide to stay in good terms. They split until Vincent Valentine contacts Mera and asks her informations about DeepGround. Mera eventually works alongside Vincent to fight DeepGround and his bosses : Weiss and Nero.

Nero being her Nemesis power-wise due to her element : Light. Genesis attempts multiple times convincing her to give up on fighting the brothers, which she highly disagrees to. Mera fights Nero and almost dies. She's then pushed back by both Sephiroth and Angeal, Genesis saving her one last time. Vincent commmands her to leave and they both plan an offensive against DeepGround with the help of Reeve, boss of the WRO. Mera eventually finds Veld and asks him everything he knows about DeepGround and the two brothers. The rest is unknown.
