A child, alone and cold, just wished for warmth and happiness. This wish became true when the child somehow caused the birth of a very brightly colored wishwing. The wish was truly to not be alone, so as simple as it was, it was fullfilled. Soleil was born the very winter night, and stuck with the kid all their growth.
As the child grew up, Soleil grew in wishing power. Starting from small wishes, to getting to larger wishes of happiness. This did give the human the responsibility to keep their wishwing out of the hands of unsavory people.
Wishwings are known to grand wishes, and that is no different for Soleil, the thing is though... he is only powerful enough to stay within his speciality; making people happy.
