FEATURES & TRAITS

Firbolg Magic - You can cast Detect Magic and Disguise Self with this trait, using Wisdom as your spellcasting ability for them. When you use this version of disguise self, you can seem up to 3 feet shorter than normal, allowing you to more easily blend in with humans and elves.

Hidden Step - As a bonus action, you can magically turn invisible until the start of your next turn or until you attack, make a damage roll, or force someone to make a saving throw.

Powerful Build - You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Speech of Beast and Leaf - You have the ability to communicate in a limited manner with beasts and plants. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. You have advantage on all Charisma checks you make to influence them. 

Druidic - You know Druidic, the secret language of druids. You can speak the language and use it to leave hidden messages. You and others who know this language automatically spot such a message. 

Spellcasting - Drawing on the divine essence of nature itself, you can cast spells to shape that essence to your will. 

Witchlight Fixture - The Witchlight Carnival provides you with free, modest lodging and food. In addition, you may wander about the carnival and partake of its many wonders at no cost to you, provided you don't disrupt its shows or cause any other trouble. You have complete access to the staff area of the Witchlight Carnival.

Carnival Companion - Over the years, you have earned the friendship of another carnival fixture. (Other DND OC- Arlo, human bard)

Lost Thing -  Memories of Family - You know that something was stolen from you, you know that you can't remember something. Disadvantage on history checks. You cannot use spells that can alter memory.

Wild Shape - Starting at 2nd level, you can use your action to magically assume the shape of a beast that you have seen before.

Old Dog, New Tricks - Starting at 2nd level- while in your Wild Shape form you may choose to use a number of Maneuvers as per the Fighter Battle Master class -- Evasive Footwork, Ambush, Tactical Assessment

PERSONALITY TRAITS

IDEALS

-  Firbolg Code- Bravery, Effort, and Honor over birth. The tribe's honor over yours. The blood of the runt is the blood of a king. Give a thousand for nothing. Truth is the honor of the tribe. Community, charity, nature.


BONDS

-  I have a family, but I have no idea where they are. One day, I hope to see them again.


FLAWS

-  I am not well socialized outside of my immediate colony and can be dreadfully clumsy in social scenarios.
 -  Very afraid of fire due to history, but cannot remember why due to Lost Thing. Will freeze up in the presence of fire.


BACKSTORY

Big Guy became separated from their tribe/family following a large fire devastated their home. From that point, they set out to find their tribe. During their search, they came across the Witchlight Carnival and, not knowing better, entered without a ticket.

The price they paid was their memories of their family, which was a very steep price to pay. For a firbolg whose life centers around their tribe, forgetting one's family is just like forgetting one's whole life. Now entirely lost, Big Guy found a sense of family and purpose in the Carnival and soon found themself as a Witchlight performer, traveling with the Carnival until they received a letter from one Marn Halftilt looking for others with stolen things.

Knowing that something was missing and drawn to help others, Big Guy joined the party in investigating the Carnival and trying to figure out what happened to these stolen things.

During this time, Big Guy greatly improved the mood of the carnival, crowning them the Witchlight Monarch.
