Kiyoko Matsaki

In the world of My Hero Academia, Kiyoko Matsaki is a young enthusiastic good-doer and one of the main protagonists of “My Hero Academia: "Hope Within Quirks" series.

 As her goal to inspire change, Kiyoko Matsaki works with Class 1A as they grow to become the next generation of pro-heroes and explore Japan’s superhuman society! With an high hopes to be the one to inspire change to the hero society while also getting to know herself better with her life and the mysterious quirk she wields! She also goes under the hero name: Twilight (The Meteorite Hero)!

She is also the eldest child of the unveiling and long lined Matsaki Family, whose she also has no recollection of.

Kiyoko is described as a pure joy of energy. She is openly passionate and ambitious about everything around her. Shown to be an energetic and expressive character, Kiyoko can be seen first appear as naive, but it is confirmed this isn’t the case, comfirmed By Principal Nezu in Season 2. She is just rather expressive and curious of the world around her.

• Kiyoko Matsaki was created in late 2019. Around this time was also the first step into stepping into the Boku No Hero Academia for the creator.
• Originally, Kiyoko Matsaki was meant to stay an only child during the early stages of the development until Yuri Mitsune, her official little brother was created few months after character design development. Along with that, the parent figures to Kiyoko were always meant to be villains. No concept of her parents’ earlier designs were ever drawn until late 2020 when Rui, Kiyoko’s biological mother was created and Kazuya being created in the summer the following year.
• In terms of OC x Canon shipping, Kiyoko was originally planned to be shipped with Izuku Midoriya due to their roles having similarities interests. However, the character choice was then shifted to Denki Kaminari after becoming a likeable character to then I began to ship with Kiyoko as a fun dynamic, much later Yami Kokeshi was created shortly in 2021 before deciding to write a dynamic with Kiyoko.
• Kiyoko’s favorite food is Apple Curry.
• Under art developments, Kiyoko’s hair is a challenge due to his fluffy appearance.
• Kiyoko’s quirk has gone to several different variations in writing. Each version getting more complex and powerful but each not fulfilling. However, due to the story needing to add more in depth, I have the opportunity to make a new quirk category, asides the confirmed (Emitter, Transformation, Mutation etc) quirks.
• Kiyoko canonically has an enhanced hearing sense, which can be good in terms to locate people from a specific near area and can be bad since certain noises can cause hearing sensitivity.
• Kiyoko is confirmed to be an ENFP.
• Kiyoko is the light counterpart to Yami Kokeshi, who she is also childhood friends with.
• “Kiyoko” [清子] is translated to ”Pure Child” or “Gifted Child” while “Matsaki” [真崎] translates to “future” or ”destination in Japanese kanji.
