Sid is an asocial fisherman who prefers the company of fishing gear, marine life, and/or old maps to most people. He tends to be terse, guarded, and a bit grouchy.

His world is one where the sea is in the sky; sea life flies and humans live on floating islands. Many people have large animal companions that act as transportation.

He bonded with Minerva after he helped her return to her pod as a calf. Now she acts as his mode of transportation through the skysea.
