Darius McConnell

Darius was born into a comfortable life in Novus' industry district, and grew up around manufacturers, designers and entrepreneurs. He knew that was what he wanted to do, so he worked hard to get there.Cut to many years later, Darius made his name as a rising star in Novus' innovative technology scene, binding classic technology with the modern magic of Technika, and pioneering his patented new invention: the Xytosystem.Through his work he crossed paths with the popular and endearing Siyseur-Novian socialite Agatha Tanoux, and the two of them instantly hit it off with one another. Agatha quickly began to spread the word of Darius' work to her wealthy connections and before long Darius had access to the funds and connections he needed to bring his work to life.

For many years Darius and Agatha worked closely as lovers and business partners, then subsequently husband and wife. They established themselves as a formidable Novian power-couple, leading the industry with their work in bodily technologies whilst Darius began to finetune the Xytosystem for mass production. All the while, nefarious organisations began to crawl out of the woodwork to sway them.Upon hearing the news that he was to become a father, Darius' life felt like it couldn't get any better. Cassian McConnell was born and for a while, things were perfect.Until Darius woke one morning, and Agatha didn't wake up with him. In fact, she didn't wake up at all.

After that, grief turned the lives of himself and Cassian upside down. He quickly grew older, greyer and more pallid as he expended all the energy he had trying to raise a daughter Agatha would be proud of, despite her complex psychological needs. Agatha would never get to see what they would become, and as that realisation grew, Darius lost his way. The Doloriak began to intervene with his life, offering him greatness and prestige in return for his Xytosystems. Eventually Xytosystems hit the public market and rapidly grew in popularity with the general public for their ability to aid the mind with tasks. As Cassian grew older she demonstrated great proficiency in gymnastics, hand to hand combat and various other sports, enticing the interest of the Doloriak, who insisted Darius raise her as an asset to the regime. 

The rest is history, Darius continued his work with the Doloriak, eventually augmenting himself and Cassian with Xytosystems to allow them to do extraordinary things, turning the two of them into human weapons. Five years to the present, almost the whole of Novus is using Xytosystems. And with the flick of a switch they turned from a mental utility, to a method of mass control. The Purples were born, and Darius' computer was the one in charge of them. He would never return from this.

☰ PERSONALITY ☰
A stern and focused man with little consideration for the feelings of others, he has forced himself to put away the empathetic side of his mind to focus on the task at hand, which is getting Novus 100% on the Xytonetwork and commencing his prosthetic projects. He does still care for Cassian but due to the strain of their relationship in recent years he really struggles to show it whilst balancing the task at hand.
