Most of Valkyrie's memories pre-Svala are fuzzy, and some she isn't even sure are real. There is one memory, her first truly vivid memory, that has set her course in life. It is the day she lost everything, and it is also the day she met the halfborn, Svala. Or, more accurately, the day the halfborn saved her from a fiery fate.
