josie is an aristocratic demon with a fascination for the lives of "the commoners", preferring the company of poorer folk over other stuck-up and rich nobles. that said, not only are they an eccentic aristocrat, wildly out of touch with the majority of the populace, they also have been dormant for the last 200 years or so, and missed about half of the industrial revolution, and every development thereafter. they keep themselves busy with all the new and exciting things around them, like eating fastfood, going to the cinema, and learning new words like "vlogging" (distinctly different from flogging) and "bitcoin" (a currency that only exists in allegory). they may have a hard time adapting, but they're having a blast with it all the same.
