A full of life history enthusiast, taking the best from present while still caring a lot for the past. She loves to study the history of present and ancient civilisation of the various humanoid species living on Earth. When not digging for ancient books, she loves to take part in various social activities with her bunch of friends, loving to play the "cool kid" role.

Where you're from makes who you are

Personality

Cassandre loves to play it cool, to give herself a style by her exhuberant attitude, trying maybe too hard to have a catchy personality. She also likes to act as a gentleman (toward females as well as males, as antecorns makes no difference between genders), from door holding to respectuous bows, and by having a generous and helpful attitude, even though she acts so more as a mean to give a positive view of herself, than from true altruism. She tries to be the popular kid, acting sociable, outgoing and laidback, not taking anything too seriously, and always ready to take part in any social activity. She loves games of any kind, being ball, street, card or video games, as long as it is a multiplayer game (she does not give much interest to solo games). She loves competition and tournaments, to measure up other players, and, especially, she loves to win. She plays for fun, but also plays to win, and can be somewhat of a bad loser, while still hiding her resent not to sully her image. She also likes friendly teasing and wrestles, such as tickling fights, and any kind of jokes and pranks, even though she tends to have a shitty humour.

She is really confident, being comfortable with others and with herself, trusting as much her brain, for her personality, values and intelligence, than her body, for her agility, stamina and dexterity, and might put herself in dangerous situations with no hesitation such as jumping from building to building dozens of meters above the ground during some hazardous high-speed chase around the city center. Exuberant and extrovert, she often catch the attention around from her provocative attitude, or just because she tends to be noisy. She is restless, always moving, jumping around and talking a lot, looking like she is unable to stay still or just keep her mouth shut.

Cassandre is highly curious, always open for new encounters, new discoveries and new ideas, and she loves to discuss, to share and to debate. However, she can also act quite stubborn : when she wants something, it might be hard to make her change her mind, same when she holds on some idea or opinion. She likes to be right, and she hates to deny herself some thing she covet or some activity she yearns for, having an hard time to deal with frustration. She can then act heavily insistent, nay annoying. If she wants you to do something with her, she will bother you about it until you end up yielding somehow.

Proud of her appearance despite usually being seen as unatractive or even ugly (she does not fit the usual antecornian beauty standards), she likes to show herself in her best light, livening her tan fur up with some turquoise make-up on her tail-tip, head and shoulders. She might be the only one to consider herself as beautiful, but she does not care much about it. She knows where her graceless traits come from, and would rather take pride in what makes her unique, a one of a kind. She also likes to attire herself in various jewelry and accessories, especially old archeological goods from the ancient human eras, even wearing some human-styled clothes sometimes, such as vests, bandanas or shirts, though she does not wear pants (too uncomfortable) nor hats (she cannot fit her horns in these). Even though she knows she cannot appear sexy within the eye of the common antecorn, she likes to play seductive and flirty, especially counting on her straight, direct and self-assured behaviour to charm her pray. This charming behaviour can aim to solely flatter her ego, or to bring some partner in her bed for another kind of games that she likes to play.

Cassandre is really talkative, being an unstopable chatterbox. She loves to discuss about anything and everything, and takes interest in her friend's interests and stories, still there are some specific topics on which she is voluble and loquacious, constantly eager to share her expertise and recent discoveries and, especially, to add some new knowledge to her base. She is highly passionate about social sciences, especially civilisation sociology and the history of humanoid races. She loves to study the evolution of yuanian races over the centuries, being for their culture and social structures, or their global behaviours, customs and beliefs. Considering that the yuanian history goes hand in hand with the human history, the hybrids having inherited most of their creators' habits, behaviours, ideas, technologies and philosophies, she puts great interest in the history of the human species, from its debuts as a technological species (starting with their first stone tools) to their social and cultural evolution as the dominant species of this planet, for hundreds of thousand years. Cassandre is of the very few to still grant respect and consideration to humans, and to be willing to reinstate them as free and equal members of the modern society. This, however, sounds like a subversive idea when even caniors and bearsies, the other two yuanie species, are still put aside...

Appearance

Cassandre looks like a typical antecorn at first. Antecorns are a sub-species of yuanies, an hybrid species born from a mix of human and animal DNA, a few centuries ago. Just like every antecorn, she has a rather humanoid body, fully covered in fur, starting with an equine-like head and ending with a pair of hooves. However, a closer look at Cassandre's anatomy will show some slight differences.

Cassandre has an ungulate-like head, starring a long and round muzzle coming straight from a flat forehead. However, her head is not as flat as it should be, and actually shows a small level difference from the brow to the muzzle. The muzzle is also shorter, and rounder, in a shape somewhat similar to a greyhound head, but much larger. She has a heart-shaped bovine nose, showing a soft pink colour, and a fluffy pair of pointy ears surrounding two twisted horns, having a bit of a screw shape. Her mane is not exactly a well-defined horse-like mane, but rather some back hairs that grows longer with no straight demarcation from the rest of the body hair, making her mane fluffier and softer than the usual.

She has a really androgynous body, of a straight and curve-less figure. She has no breasts at all, but instead a pair of slightly muscled pectorals. She has an healthy body, thin and sportive, without carved muscles. Her tail is quite long and fluffy overall, and she tends to wear it high to prevent it from touching the floor. Just like every antecorn, she wears a pair of cloven hooves, topped by small claws laying behind the foot, surrounding some leg feathering. The fur is thick and soft, showing some bits of fluff here and there, as opposed to the very short and satiny coat of most antecorns.

She has a tabby-like coat, wearing brown stripe patterns on a creamy base, with some off-white unders. She likes to add some turquoise accents on her head, underlying her face markings and dying her mane and the tip of her tail, as well as the tip of her horns.

She likes to wear some accessories reminding of the history of humans : a tiger eye stone tied to her left horns represents the ancient stone age, a delicately ornamented pocket watch she wears as a necklace reminds the industrial era, a pierced dollar bracelet at her right hand represents the rise of capitalism while the other hand wears a leather bracelet representing the cross of the Christian religion. Lastly, a metallic ring on her tail represents the ancient civilisations such as the Egyptian one. She also wear a black fingerless glove at her right hand to hide the scar of a lost finger. Beside her jewelry, she does not wear clothes.

Story

Let's start this story a century ago. A young businessman leaves North America to sail to eastern Africa. He comes to sign some contracts with local producers of some raw materials that he hopes to sell for a good price in his own country where materials are now a rare commodity. His associate, being younger and eager for adventure, convinces him to borrow a small boat to explore one of the world's last large forests to maybe find some rare wood variety. But a dispute on board breaks the two men appart, and our businessman makes the stupid decision to leave the boat and continue the exploration on his own, by foot (or should I say "by hooves"?). Needless to say he quickly loses his way, and ends up wandering amongst the bushy trees until finding a small clearing crossed by the river. He sits to rest and snack a bit, until some movement in a nearby bush catches his attention. Seeing him approach, a woman who was picking some herbs up had hidden herself not to face the impressive-looking stranger. But said stranger notices her, and wake up to meet her. Both timid and afraid at first, they let some curiosity lead them while they silently observe each other, turning around one other. They actually are not of the same species : one is an antecorn, an ungulate-like species who prides themselves claiming to be the new dominant species on Earth, while the second is a canior, a feline or canine like species cloistered in some wild areas in Africa or the Middle-Easts that were not interesting enough for the antecorns to colonise. They both new about the other one's species, but for each of them, it was their first time encountering a different species stranger for real.

They try to communicate a bit, slowly approaching each other until touching each other's face and body, appreciating the differences in their fur and body. The male's excitement for the discovery slowly turns into some more bestial excitement as his thin fingers runs in the thick, dark fur of the exotic-scented female. He did not ask for consent to taste the forbidden fruit of this jungle Eden.

The male antecorn ends up finding his way back to his camp, while the female canior returns to her village. While he would boast about his encounter, she would never mention it at all.

Months passed, the businessman is back to America and does not give much importance about this encounter at all, while the young woman slowly watches her belly grow in horror. She is not married yet due to her young age, and, unlike antecorns, caniors still have strict social rules that includes marital devotion, binary parental norms, and sexist habits asking females to stay untouched for their husband-to-be. A pregnant female is to never be married. But she cannot hide it, and when her father asks about her rounding belly, she lays the blame on some young unmarried male that died weeks ago from a hunting accident, therefore cannot deny the misdeed. She will be blamed for this extramarital adventure for years, but the village will still take care of her and her fatherless child. When then day of delivery arrives, she asks to be alone with her closest friend, who happens to be used to midwife work. But when the young midwife finally manage to draw the newborn out of the maternal womb, she drops it while letting a scream of terror go. The baby is horribly misshapen: his face looks like he had been repeatedly hit against a stone wall, he can barely open his mouth, the top of his head shows two large protuberances, and his feet looks nothing like feet, as if its DNA barely knew what a leg is supposed to look like. The baby most likely cannot survive, but whether it does or not, the village is going to see it as some sort of demon or divine punishment. They have to get rid of it as soon as possible before anyone knows. But while her friend wraps the silent baby with some dirty cloth, the young mother starts crying in despair : killing her own child? How could she? Sure he probably won't survive long, but as long as it lives, hope remains. She will find another solution, and she needs her friend to create a diversion while she runs away with the kid. Her friend refuses at first, fearing that it would make it even more difficult to explain to the village, but she cannot refuse the young mother to try to save her kid's life. She knows she would have acted the same if it was her own child.

The young female manages to leave the village unnoticed, her kid snoring in her arms. She runs for hours despite the pain and fatigue of the delivery, until hearing the noise of a car. She runs to it, jumping in the middle of the path to stop the vehicle. It is driven by a couple of antecorns, and she knows they are not keen on helping caniors, but she has no other choice. The baby is their partly their kin as well, after all. While the two strangers stops the car and question her behaviour, she just hand them the baby, forcing it into the arms of one of them, without a word, before running back to the forest. They cannot even react, watching her leave while the baby slowly moan in the cold wind. Having no other option, they bring the newborn back to town, showing him to some local doctor to ask if it could ever survive. The doctor examines the little creature in considerable detail, palpating and x-raying his whole body. When he announces to the couple that this baby might actually be an hybrid of two different yuanie species, they cannot even believe it. People of different species are not supposed to mate, and even if they do, they cannot produce any offspring. But this little moaning guy is the actual proof that they can, even though the doctor cannot affirm yet that he will live. He offers to either euthanize it or to send it to some laboratory for them to study his peculiar anatomy, but the couple refuses. They feel responsible for the kid that was entrusted to them, and decide to raise it as their own, no matter how difficult it might be.

The hybrid child is named Chiron, and raised in a large antecorn city of south Africa. Some chirurgies are needed for him to live properly, to help him breathe and eat, and he gathers the crowd wherever he goes, being seen as some little abomination that should not even exist, being the result of some act of bestiality. But his parents try their best to protect him from this outside hate, and spoil him with love and care. At the age of 3, the decision is made to simply cut his legs off to replace them by functional prosthesis, allowing him to make his first steps. He will grow up living a strange life, being a loved child at home, and a despised pariah outside.

However, not everyone hates on this very unique individual, and he is barely an adult when a young female falls in love with him, surely not for his ugly appearance, but for his peculiar life philosophy and personal humour. They set up home together, living the happy love life, not caring at all about what others might say, even defying the crowd's opinion to the point of having a baby together, no matter what it might look like.

The baby boy is not as ugly as expected, being sure a bit malformed, but not as much of an abomination as his father. He also seems healthier, even though he needs his legs to be cut off too in order to be able to walk, helped by some metallic prosthesis they covered in fur for them to look like real legs. The child lives a relatively normal life, growing a passion for the biology, the history and the sociology of the two species he comes from, caniors and antecorns. He finds love as well, follows his beloved to Russia, and decides to have a kid himself, even if that means cutting its legs off after a few years of life.

Yes, you read all of this for nothing : Cassandre only arrives now. The canior genes now being diluted with pure antecorn genes, this last baby looks relatively normal, even having fully functional legs. She does look a little weird, but one would not suspect her to be an hybrid at first despite her out of shape facial feature and her thick and long body fur. She was lucky enough to inherit some beautiful fur colour and pattern from her mother, making her nice-looking enough to avoid the mockeries and disdain that her father and grand-father had suffered from. Her father shares his passions with her, and she starts to study the history of the yuanian species, going back to the species that created them all : humans. Unlike yuanies who are lab-born species, humans descends from a vast history of evolution and improvement, marked with various discoveries, wars, legends and heroes that she was eager to learn about. Their society descending from human societies, studying their origins was like studying her own origins, as she would see the yuanies like some variation of humans rather than completely different species, as they share not only their culture and most behaviours, but also their anatomy and most of their DNA. She would spend the rest of her life studying the origins, habits, customs, behaviours and beliefs of every human-like species that had roamed Earth since the beginnings of humanity.

Relationships

Argyros

688128?1534703399

Cassandre and Argyros became friends at first sight. They instantly liked each other for some reason, and became really good friends, spending lots of time together, chatting about each other's interests, sharing ideas and asking for opinions. They are often seen showing affection to each other, simply touching each other, keeping a hand at the other's back while walking, or actually cuddling and nuzzling. And, in the warm intimacy of some sweet home, they might add some "with benefits" term to their friendship.

Hippolyte

564490?1497269765

Despite Cassandre being really close to his sister, and despite them having a somewhat similar personality, Hippolyte and Cassandre actually does not like each other. Cassandre will show some respect to the dear brother of her friend, but does not enjoy spending time with him, and will rather avoid him. He likes to annoy them and easily manage to irritate her until they argue and she ends up sulking. Maybe Hippolyte actually likes her, though.
