Classification: Spirit (Ghost)

Usually, when a creature dies, its soul joins the Source. However, occasionally a soul will resist, be it because of unfinished business, magic, or a fear of death itself. In other cases, souls are torn from the source by powerful magic users or Source Floods. The resulting beings can be anything from harmless, mindless wisps to creature so powerful they're worshipped as gods.

Ghosts are Spirits consisting of a single soul. Their memories and/or personality are almost always intact. 

Unbound Power: Phoenix

Unbound Powers are entities, often without sentience, that wander the world in search of an appropriate host. They come into being after an extremely powerful being with a unique power set dies, leaving the essence of their powers behind. Unbound Powers can only enter their chosen host when the host is at their most vulnerable state, often at times of hopelessness or near death. The host then gains a variation of the original power set. When they die, the process continues.

The Phoenix was once a powerful Draconic being worshipped for its tenacity and inability to die. How Lalo killed it is unknown, but he seems to have inherited the Phoenix's indestructible nature. He doesn't age and most attacks pass through him like water.

Power Set:

-Cannot be injured by anything other than items made of soul stone. Even this can't kill him, but will prevent him from moving until the stone is removed from his body.

-Is immortal.

-Is able to remove peoples ability to feel emotion or empathy and transfer them to a different source. 

-Can take on a solid human form.

-Has a halberd that he controls telekinetically while in his inhuman form.

Relationships:

-Killed Eurwen's close friend.

-Gave Callei the Sculptor Unbound Power.

-Killed Elzie.

-Is Cimber's "father", in a sense.

Backstory Summary:

Lalo has become a common ghost story in Naos and neighboring nations, and in each retelling his backstory is a little different. Those who believe all humans on earth descended from a human-led civilization that was destroyed by magic think that he is a remnant from that society, corrupted by the forces that nearly wiped out mankind. Others think he was a paladin of Allos, an ancient city that worshipped the Phoenix, but rebelled against the Phoenix after it refused to protect Allos during an enemy invasion. There are a few points every retelling seems to agree on: 1, he killed the unkillable Phoenix and inherited its powers, and 2, he was once a normal human who turned to evil to escape the pain of mourning.
