Backstory:

Arc 1 (backstory):

After moving into a new house, Erin found a strange machine hidden in a shack behind her house. After spending a couple months working on it, she was able to get it fixed. It turns out the machine was a time machine, and she was transported hundreds of years into the future. 

Now trapped in the future, Erin is forced to make a life for herself. She meets the man who invented the time machine, Jeremiah, who was also trapped here, and heeds his advice to get herself set up in this new world while working with him to try and recreate the time machine. Soon she meets Emric and the two of them quickly fall in love. Jeremiah warns her against forming any relationships here, causing him and Erin to get in a big fight. Erin refuses to help Jeremiah with the time machine anymore, and moves in with Emric. Emric proposes a while later, and Erin accepts, after confessing that she's from the past.

Emric and her end up wanting kids, and make use of genetic engineering to create their babies. (Ryker, then two years later twins Thales and Sagan, and a year later Falynn). The live happily in the future, until Jeremiah visits one day after years of not talking to Erin. He tells Erin that he has finally done it, he's found a way for them to get home, but it will only work once. Suddenly hope is brought up for a goal she had long since abandoned- getting home to her own time. 

She brings this information to Emric, with the thought that he would agree to go home to the past with Erin and the kids. Erin is surprised when Emric refuses, saying that this is his and the kids' home. the two of them get in a massive fight, and while Emric is out, Erin sneaks off with the kids and heads back though the makeshift time machine. Something goes wrong, however, and the gateway closes before Jeremiah can get through.

What Erin didn't realize is she was pregnant at the time with her final daughter, Mick. She moves to a new house a few years later, tired of warning the kids not to go anywhere near the shack.

Arc 2 (current arc):

Erin had spent her entire life trying to raise her children as normally as possible, and had succeeded in raising several well-adjusted and successful children. The genetic engineering had made them talented in different fields, as well as physically strong and unlikely to get sick. None of them seemed to remember anything from the future, apart from a few dreams that Ryker had which she quickly convinced him was just his imagination. But her favorite was Mick, while much less "perfect" than the other kids since she was born instead of engineered, Erin liked the fact that she had a 'normal' kid. 

However, when her daughter Mick goes to visit their old house, she comes across the shack- and the time machine.

Personality:

Erin is very inflexible, when she makes a decision she is going to stick to it, which can be both good and bad. She cares deeply for her family and her kids, and did everything she did out of a desire to protect them. She also still harbors some hurt as she thinks Emric should have come back to the present with her. This hurt shows up as her favoritism towards Mick- she wants to forget all the future stuff happened and the "perfection" of her other kids brings up that hurt. Deep down she still really misses Emric, which is why she's never gotten into a serious relationship since, but doesn't regret taking her kids.
