Backstory:

Arc 1 (backstory):

A resident of what we would consider the future, Emric lives in an advanced society. One day, he came arcross the lovely Erin, and it was love at first sight. She was a little awkward and had a flair for the "old-fashioned", but he found that endearing about her. The two quickly entered into a relationship, and soon enough he found himself proposing.

When he got down on one knee, Erin stopped him. At first he was afraid that she was about to reject him, but instead she gave him some very surprising news. Erin was a time traveler, brought here from hundreds of years in the past by accident from a time machine she found in her shed. She had no way home, and she was trapped in the future for, well, the foreseeable future. Emric, however, only paused for a moment before immediately continuing his proposal with a joke about how she was so bad with technology. Soon enough they were married. 

Erin and him end up wanting kids, and make use of genetic engineering  to create their babies. (Ryker, then two years later twins Thales and  Sagan, and a year later Falynn). The live happily together, until a stranger shows up at their door. It turns out the stranger is another time traveler, Jeremiah the original inventor of the time machine, who was also stuck in the future. Jeremiah had found a way to get Erin and him back to their own time, but it could only be used once. Erin tries to convince Emric to travel back to her present with him and the kids, but Emric refuses, surprising her. He states that this is his and the kids' home, and they belong here.

When Emric comes back from work the next day, he finds Erin and the kids gone, Erin having taken them back to her time.

Arc 2: (current arc):

22 years later, Emric is still alone. The loss of his family had sent him into a downward spiral for a while, and he is just beginning to pull himself out of it. Then the last thing he could have expected happens. His kids turn up at his front door (including Mick who had had no idea existed), along with Jeremiah who he thought had left long ago, asking for answers.

Personality:

Emric is a kind, intelligent man who is also is also rather sensitive and romantic. He cares deeply about his family, and he's only just now getting over Erin. He likes bad jokes and sports, in typical dad fashion, and would give anything to play holo-catch with his kids.
