Loyren

Loyren is one of my most developed and oldest OCs, then there's a lot to say. :)

Origins and early life: 

Loyren is the son of a Great Fairy and of a hylian.

He inherited most of his powers from his mother and is recognized as a Great Fairy himself, even among his aunts and siblings. He's a rarity since he was born a man (Great Fairies were usually born female). However, when he was old enough, he decided to leave his motherland and investigate about his father and hylian origins. Sadly, he never made it in time (his father was deceased when he finally reached his goal), but this made him discover the mortal world and he decided to live among hylians and other kinds regularly (sometimes coming back to his original fountain for resourcing or other reasons). He’s often seen with his two “big” sisters around, Lyna and Sely, who are two tiny pink/healing fairies.

Personality: 

Loyren is usually quite grumpy and serious, with a lot of struggles with social interactions since he’s also very bold and honest. Teasing and sarcasm are usually two things he has difficulties to grasp as well. He’s not a bad fellow though and tries to improve with the help of his friends as time goes by. Even though his social skills aren’t the best, he can show compassion and empathy when he feels that the one in front of him is true and honest.  

Loyren spends most of his time working, studying, and taking care of his patients, having little to no sleep but knowing when to take a good rest to be more efficient.

Note: Eternal life always has been a difficult subject for Loyren but this is an important concept for this character since it taught him a lot as well. After mourning all his mortal friends (during their first circle of life) and even their descendance in some situations, Loyren takes the decision to go back to his kind for a bit. This will result in him taking a few centuries-long sleep in his own fairy fountain to try and forget about his pain, until one of his friends reincarnates and randomly finds his place.

Powers: 

Loyren possesses all same powers as classic Great Fairies: Healing, pure aura, elemental magic, fairy and nature knowledge, sensing magic, etc.

He also has what people call the “Fairy Charm”: it’s an innate power that makes Great Fairies extra charismatic and attractive. Loyren tries to cover it by all means possible when he's in the crowd, for this reason he wears full outfit everywhere, even when it’s too hot outside. However, he keeps attracting many people, that's his curse. X'D It goes from love to admiration, that's a natural charm that can have a lot of interesting effects and won't care about people preferences.

Special: Corrupted side

Loyren has a corrupted Great Fairy form, inherited from his mother.

That's what Majora's corruption has caused to his appearance and powers (the one with the eye on his forehead). Under this form, his Great Fairy powers are totally upside down and reversed, meaning that he won't heal but absorb any vital energy around instead, no matter what kind of life form is in front of him. However, he's totally aware of his acts and his personality remains the same, which means that he hates having to rely on his corruption.

Usually, Loyren hides this appearance and secret with the seal he has on his forehead but it can happen that this seal breaks or is removed for some reasons (survival for example) and the thorns are a very useful way to trap enemies and to absorb the life out of them too.

This form is a secret that Loyren solemnly keeps for himself and only a very few people know about it. He's not a bad guy at all but he knows the consequences if more persons find out about this side of him.

Random facts about Loyren:

•  Even though he's proud of his great fairy origins, Loyren won't talk much about it. He does so to protect his kind since fairy fountains and their powers can attract the attention of some nasty people.
• He has to use his fairy powers with cares when he's travelling outside the fairies domains because they take more energy from him and time to recover. However, he knows a lot of other spells and is often considered as a mage or healer.
• Loyren will always act cold and strictly professional with people (even with his friends, except in particular situations), he can be awkward with other persons behaviors because he wasn't used to deal with people and their feelings at younger age.
• He doesn't really use the "wings" of his great fairy appearance, he can float in the air. He also can change his own height.
• Not so many people had the occasion to see his great fairy appearance, he keeps it hidden as much as he can (because fairy charm increases way too much as well XD).
• Never make Loyren angry or he can make your state much worse. :D
• He's the very organized type.
• "Knowledge is power"
