To avoid harassment from frightened humans, he has taken residence in an old abandoned hamlet.
There he spends time practicing medicine and botany, as well enjoying his hobbies in peace.

He is very fond of all things related to nature - in particularly insects and plants; he is also especially fond of yellow flowers.
Some of his favourite plants include tansy, dotted loosestrife, hawkweed, golden hardhack and many more.

Viasal was originally a apothecary working in a medieval city in Europe.
He was a associate of the church and local monastery as a mender, though he was ostracized when he became an undead - for understandable reasons.
His former acquaintances turned on him and tried to banish him.
First with more normal methods like exorcism, but when it didn't work, they tried with blessed nails; but that clearly didn't work as intended either.

He left the area and wandered for a longer period, but eventually decided to settle down in a small hamlet recently extinguished by the Plague.
He set up a study and started working on making a plantation, which he was able to improve over several decades.
Over half the hamlet is now a garden full of not only medicinal plants, but also herbs, berries, vegetables, fruit and ornamental flowers.
Other than keeping giant gardens, he is also a pretty deft carpenter.
Many of the buildings have been saved from ruin by his upkeep of them.

While he avoid people to a great extent, he is not hostile or malicious at all.
It's rather the opposite; he is considerably bright, friendly and helpful - if a person is calm enough when encountering him.

Viasal is quite a caring individual, especially to his plants which he tenderly looks after.
Aside from all kinds of vegetation, he loves nature in whole; especially pollinating insects which he considers his best friends.

He is also optimistic - he doesn't mind being in the state he currently is in, though he thinks it's a very strange condition to be in.
Should he be attacked, he'd preferably run away than to stay and fight back, even though he's very likely immortal.
He'd rather not take any chances, however.

-His name is an anagram of "Salvia" which is a reference to the plant sage. Garlands of sage was a part of his original design.

-He always keep his cottage warm in winters, despite not needing any heat. He does this for the small critters that lives in his house, whether they be spiders, mice, flies or beetles.

-He doesn't believe in the concept of "vermin". Viasal knows all living things are just trying their best to survive, and their existence should not be seen as an inconvenience to anyone.

-His clothes can either be intrepreted as a one-piece robe or with a seperate hood.

-He was made to let me experiment with drawing a bit more. His simplicstic design gives me opportunity to put more thought & effort into props, backgrounds and compositions.
