Fridge

Fridge was found by Melvin in a heap of junk not too far from his university, her family nowhere to be seen.  Unknown to him at the time, this was no normal kitten. Fridge was an extremely rare, thought to be extinct, void cat. They were forced to extinction for a reason, as they were thought to be nothing more than leeches, that absorb and feed off magic. However, for Melvin, an accidental being of infinite power and magic, Fridge only lessened the intensity, making him feel in control for the first time in his life. 

Fridgey is trained to absorb his magic and help him stay calm if it gets too out of control. Though she is pretty mischievous and a big troublemaker at home, when it comes down to it, she takes her job seriously and responds quickly to any emergencies.  

Melvin also trained her to act as close to a normal cat as possible, with mixed success. Occasionally limbs are longer than they are meant to be, or she phases through a wall, or her eyes start turning into shapes that are not natural, but she is trying her best. 

Her origins are uncertain. It's possible the universe was just trying to right itself and restore magical balance that Melvin's existence screwed up. It's also possibly she was created intentionally...

Miscellaneous:

Refuses to touch any normal cat toys. Unless they are the color yellow.  

Very particular about food. 

Enjoys licking dust off the ceiling. 

Regularly steals and hides kitchen utensils, including knives, forks, cheese graders, garlic press etc. 

Loves going on walkies.
