ABOUT

Mara is an ancient, powerful mage whose unnaturally long life has been dedicated to seeking out lost knowledge from aeons past. Her childhood was tumultuous but she was saved from an early grave by the rotori, an order of elite warrior-mages, who trained her to join their ranks. Along the way, she met an ambitious woman called Cerin who wished to dethrone the gods, a path that offered many opportunities to Mara but was also the cause of great loss and suffering.

PERSONALITY

To most, Mara seems emotionless and cold. She is ruled by logic and is used to maintaining a distance from others. Everything she does is deliberate and most actions are planned well ahead of time. She's very calm and collected with a dry, clever wit. While intimidating, she isn't quick to violence and is partial to dispensing wisdom in conversation. She enjoys talking about history and magic and oftentimes takes on a mentor-like role. Her unnatural lifespan has had some bad side effects on her mind and body. Sometimes she can be quite withdrawn or irritable or seems to be elsewhere mentally, confusing the past with the present. She suffers from chronic pain in her hip and some of her joints.
