alex is a stormchaser who works with three close friends, chasing weather phenomena across the american great plains (they also collaborate with other stormchasing groups on occassion). her group is active in the spring, summer, and fall - in the winter, alex bunkers down and works as a mechanic in whatever small town she can find.
