part-time ballerina and full-time highschooler, mai is mei's older cousin. despite being just as quiet as mei, she is more laid-back and outgoing. although she is knowledgeable of their family's ghost problem, mai remains strangely unaffected by it and has thus been privileged to enjoy a relatively normal life - but that doesn't mean she won't be there for mei.

- mei: cousins with a sisterly relationship. having been around for a majority of mei's childhood, mai feels much more like her older sister rather than her cousin and looks out for her accordingly. although mai is generally laid back, she can be very skeptical and suspicious for mei's sake, especially as she was the main one to comfort mei after her breakup with livvie. mai is often the person that mei goes to when she needs advice from someone older than her - which she likes - and often gets roped into chaperoning her and her friends - which she doesn't like.
