They/Them

A legend passed down through generations, it tells of a hopelessly beautiful tale. Once, all was well. Peace reigned supreme, guided by the gentle hands of two elemental deities (Air and Earth). They ruled greatly and kindly, and their power was known to all. Even as a massive barbarian human empire rose, the deities displayed no nervousness. They attempted to reason with the humans and having reached an agreement, retreated to their lands and offered the rest for the humans. This agreement worked for a time. Sadly, the Earth deity was mortally wounded by a foolish and uneducated human who had taken it upon himself to slay these mighty beings. The Air deity mourned their partner's loss and in their grief, wandered the land looking for meaning. They have never found it and continue to stumble over the world searching, either for death or new life.
