June is an orphan alaskan wolf, who had been adopted at a young age by a wolf pack. She grew with them, the members of the pack raised her like their own daughter, but despite that she had always been lonely and distant, wether with the adults or with the other pups.

As a teen, she met a solitary wolf with dark brown fur, older than her. For the first time in her life, she felt a huge chemistry with one of her peers. They met again, and again, and again, and of course, one day, she came back pregnant. When she told it to her secret lover... he immediatly stopped coming to see her. Naive, she worried so much for him that she tried to find him in the forest, hoping that nothing happened to him. She walked during days and days, and strayed so far from her territory that she ended up getting lost, while she was feeling her belly growing more and more. After weeks, she lost hope and stopped trying to find him. Her 'lover' abandoned her and shirked his responsibilities.

Weeks passed, and during a tempest, the young wolf felt it was the time. With all of this snow and wind everywhere, she was afraid of not being able to find a den.

A giant, ghostly, white wolf suddenly appeared among the snowflakes. They guided her to a den where she could give birth in safety.

She gave birth to five pups, but only two of them survived more than three weeks, the young mother struggling to hunt and by the way, feed them. Her last two pups, that ske named Ketchi and Kan, grew up healthy despite the sometimes hard times.

"One day, during a hunt, that strange, mysterious wolf appeared once more, atop a hill. June stared at them for a moment, paralyzed, and when she came to her senses and walked over to thank them for their huge help of the last time, they were already gone.  On the other side of the hill, there was the black-and-white dog staring at her as if she had seen a ghost. June asked her if she too had seen a giant white wolf. The black and white dog answered that yes, she even already met them a while back but thought it was a hallucination. The two talked a little, June surprinsingly found out the stranger wasn't a wolf but a dog, and as they realized they were both alone and struggling to hunt on their own, they started to team up to hunt. They became friends, and after some times, Valdez (the stranger's name) settled with June and her pups in their den, and became a second mother to them.
