- "Sorrel" is a name referring to a reddish-brown color, usually used in reference to horses. The red color of his fur used to be much more dull, resembling the sorrel color that he was named after.
- He has always been especially gifted for his age, and was able to master magic before evolving.
- His ring is a gift from his trainer's late grandmother. Inside of the ring there is an engraving of the phrase "Semper ad meliora", which is Latin for "always onwards towards better things".
