Charlie is many things. A mechanic, an anomaly researcher, a robotics studier, a lover of the opera, and many other facets she keeps close to her chest.
She may pride herself as a researcher, but in true apidee nature, she is optimistic and headstrong, sometimes far too much for her own good.
She used to be much more into the study of robotics and machinery. She's an efficient little mechanic, but gave up her intensive studies on AI and robots once she felt like she had. 'gotten' the concept, in her own way, which is why trying to understand anomalies is so interesting from a scientific/mechanical perspective. Charlie is much less inclined to the actual limbo/god side of anomalies and more toward the scientific and physical way they manifest, which can make it hard to know how to handle an encounter that requires specific tact or methods

The reason she got into robots/ai was that it felt like a part of the world she didn't have inherent access to as something like an organic. Something about the idea of a way of existing to normal to the identity existing within it that she couldn't picture from her own perspective. she integrated that into herself, and now is looking at the ways something beyond both conventional living beings exists in space, that and the tinkerer's urge to see what makes something function/tick no matter the weirdness it displays
A lot of her research leads back around to self-discovery/identity, and integrating other parts of the world into herself to better 'work' within them, either from a matter of function and job or just existing in it. Like. If you can get it, you can really make the most of everything you have to work with. If you look at her eyes and notice the black sclera, you may realize they are actually robotic enhancements. Shows her dedication to improvement and efficiency.

The curiosity that digs back deep into the self and such. Strangely, for someone who loves to take apart and understand the world outside of her, she doesn't show much of her own mind's eye outside of intense encounters, when the vulnerability is required. Something that she's taken from her previous passion and worked into herself makes her less keen on sharing it.
