A Kelp Shark

Hooper is based off the tiger shark from the Movie Jaws. 

Before becoming a Gummy Shark, Hooper was just a plain shark. He had no real thoughts, only emotions, and his last few moments were filled with fear, anger, and agony. After Chief Brody and Dr. Hooper dug through his stomach, Hooper’s corpse was tossed back out to sea where he woke up as a gummy shark. 

Now his brain buzzed with thoughts. He couldn’t remember much from his past life, but he remembers his feelings during those last moments, and he remembers the name Hooper. He decided it must have been his name and to help others recognize him he’s going to keep it.

Those first moments of consciousness were difficult. His guts were still out and he was lost. Luckily, he found a precious little sea urchin who let him use one of its spikes as a needle to stitch himself back up.

Occasionally while scuttling his stitches will snag on a rock and break loose. Luckily for Hooper, Brody (a name that brings him great comfort,) the sea urchin sticks close in case he needs help. 

Brody wears the shark tooth that Dr. Hooper dropped from the boat.
