The Verdant Project was once a renouned research group. Professor Peuraria had founded it on the principle of helping nature regrow and reclaim abanoned locations. It was his goal and his life-long dream to see a new forest flourish and grow. During one of his many excursions to the Misted Forest, Professir Pueraria disappeared without a trace and no one has been able to locate him. It's been three years.

Currently in charge is Vasilis. While he shares many of Pueraria's ideals, Vasilis tends to take it to the extreme. This includes a certain recklessness when it comes to humans being involved. He, however, will faulter when a Pokemon is in danger.

Determined to help the planet return to a more "natural" and "wild" state, The Verdant Project is dedicated in rehabilitating areas uninhabited by humans. With Professor Pueraria missing, the group has become more extreme and has been forgibly relocating humans in areas they deem "Wild Zones".

These "Wild Zones" in theory, work well. The Pokemon who live there prosper and create a solid ecosystem. This, however, makes them more suseptible to poachers and others who take advantage of a human-free areas. Without constant protection, Wild Zones are nothing more than glorified sanctuaries and easy targets for other dangers. Not to mention the danger they pose to normal citizens with the high volume of relocated Pokemon.

The Verdant Project headquarters are located deep in the Misted Forest. The location is extremely difficult to reach without insider knowlege. The area is a large Wild Zone with many varieties and species of Pokemon in it.

It's a large research building nestled around an ancient tree which grows through the middle. Professor Pueraria's original blueprint idea was to encapcilate the base of the tree, but after further thought, he decided to keep the tree untouched and had the research facility built around it.

Anyone without a Verdant ID is refused entry. Visitors are not allowed and the group takes security very seriously. It's unknown what happens to people that attempt to infultrate the building. They're typically never seen again.
