Liam was born into a secret society of warriors trained by the Light as a defense against the uprising Darkness. He was raised in the Scottish sect of this society until he was attacked while exploring one day by a strange creature of darkness. It hit him in the right upper arm with a stinger and injected something into him before he managed to finish it off. Worried, he sought counsel with the societies Elders. Who put him on a pilgrimage to the City of Light to ask the Outlanders for aide with his affliction. On his trip oversee's however his boat was attacked by another creature of the dark as it neared Astora. Destroying it and the small amount of society crew members on board. Leaving Liam the sole survivor as he washed up onto the beaches of Astora.
