Profile

I'm still working on his backstory, but for now what we've got is a very muscular burly rosales who spends his days in the forge working as a blacksmith! He mostly crafts tools for other rosales to use, as well as mending old ones, but he also loves creating artful weapons and blades, and has even sold a few ceremonial daggers and the like. But since he doesn't want people to get the wrong idea, he very rarely makes his weaponry public. - v- He has always lived alone for as long as any of the townsfolk have known him, and he never talks about his family or where he came from. But he seems to be pretty well off for a blacksmith, even when his business is slow. Hmm....

History
Thorns history is unknown to those around him, and large parts of it are obscured even to himself. He grew up in the care of his 'uncle', a rosales by the name of Reynolds. Throughout his childhood he was taken care of and funded by a mysterious benefactor who never revealed himself to Thorn. When he asked his uncle about his parents, the answers were vague, varied, conflicting, and sometimes completely different. Soon enough, Thorn gave up trying to learn anything about them. In his adulthood, Thorn realized that he looked nothing like his Uncle Reynolds, and eventually set off on his own, telling himself that he was content with never knowing the truth. Having learned smithing and trade from his uncle, he set up shop in a mixed race town, where he now regularly repairs working tools and household appliances, while privately practicing forging small weaponry and formal armor.

Personality
Thorn is the sort of guy who everyone invites to parties, but no one ever really spends any one on one time with. He is a little loud and overbearing, but overall he is incredibly amicable and friendly. Many rosales find him easy to speak to, and people warm up to him quickly. He never seems to become jealous of anyone else, so even though he is often in the spotlight in large groups he is always comfortable letting someone else take the stage. He makes smalltalk easily. So easily, in fact, that most everyone (save the very perceptive) miss an important fact - Thorn almost never talks about himself. In many ways this works to his advantage; after all, no one likes to listen to someone go on about themselves, and everyone enjoys when people ask about them instead. Thorn offers lots of interest in other rosales, but when questions about himself arise, he smoothly gives a vague, brief reply and changes the topic, typically diverting attention to the other people in the conversation. It's a trick he learned from Reynolds in his boyhood. He never speaks of his family, his hometown, and especially not of his mysterious benefactor. When it comes to himself, Thorn quickly closes up and erects a wall between himself and others.
