Profile

S'yal wrote this boy for me (as in, written as if he were Impressed to me) ages ago, back when Peregrine Weyr was still active. I recently remembered him and grabbed him to keep him here for safety.

Name: Awesth
Color: Blue
Age: ?

Appearance:
Let's get one thing straight, butter ball. Awesth is the bluest damn thing you've ever seen. Got it?

Awesth's base hide is a light blue, tinged with the slightest bits of grey. It almost, to some, resembles the sky on a nice day. Adding to this image is the fact that he has very pale markings covering his hide, nearly white in color. They are shaped... like clouds! They cover his heavyset form liberally, most obvious on his broad sides and one particular 'cloud' covering his face like a mask at some mysterious ball. Awesth would be the best at masked balls.

Awesth's body is made for naps. At hatching he had been a very long dragonet, nearly serpentine in build. He had a long torso, a long tail, a long neck. Though only thing short about him had been his legs. Now, he's still long... but he's also thick. Very, very thick. Not with muscle, he sleeps far too much for that. No, Awesth is to put it kindly; fluffy. He is squishy and good for hugs. Luckily, he isn't morbidly obese and closer to just being pleasantly round. But compared to other dragons? Definitely on the heavier end.

His features are surprisingly delicate for a dragon. His snout is longer then most, tapering off to a rounded point. He has fat, puffy cheeks that fit his status as overweight, and large eyes, one of which being slightly smaller then the other. This gives him a strangely lopsided look to those that noticed, though he doesn't mind. His headknobs are one of the most interesting features on them. Towards the end they curl towards his skull, almost similar to a butterflies antennae but much less pronounced. They are slightly longer then a normal dragon, making him a sensitive searchrider. Unfortunately, he can hardly stand to be around sociopaths because of this increased sensitivity.

Personality:
Oh, you need something? You're upset? Come here, sit with Awesth. Tell him all your problems. Then we can take a nap.

Awesth might not be the fittest of dragons, the fiercest, or the bravest. But in his own way, Awesth could easily be a hero. While the soldiers are fighting at war, Awesth is the one who would be tending to the ill and comforting scared children. He, quite simply, is a lover. Definitely not a fighter. Awesth doesn't have a mean bone in his body, and he'd much prefer to take care of his 'clutch' then fight to the death over some green. Awesth is a pacifist. He's the first to try and control a situation, or convince people to just leave each other alone. He doesn't see a need for fighting. Unfortunately, his attempts at diplomacy are weak and he will need lots of time and practice to hone his skills.

Awesth, unfortunately, had no backbone whatsoever. He relies on the group he surrounds himself with to protect him, as he can't defend himself to save his life. Being yelled at earns agreements and apologies, attacks results in him falling over himself to escape the aggressor. He needs his rider and friends to keep him safe, back him up against the evils of the world. But all this cowardly behavior goes out the window the second someone hurts one of his friends. It starts out with timid whispers of being nice. But if you don't stop then? Only Faranth can save you. Awesth will get right up in your face and tell you exactly what he thinks of you. In many, many colorful words. Words that would make a certain geneticist cry. But Awesth would never attack. That's just sinking to their level.

He'd much rather sleep, really. Awesth loves to sleep. He likes to find a nice, warm place to cuddly up with his rider and be told a bed time story. Drills are always a problem with this blue as he sneaks off to avoid them and can be found hours later, passed out while surrounded by firelizards. He especially loves having people to cuddle up with while asleep. Whers, firelizards, humans... hell, even Beautiful will all be invited to the cuddle pile. Even when not sleeping, Awesth loves to lounge around in the company of those he likes. He likes to laze about, talking and avoiding work. He loves spending time with people.

Are you feeling a bit down? A bit angry? Awesth wants to listen to your problems. He's not just willing to do it, he's eager to. Awesth loves to help people. He likes to cuddle and be a shoulder to cry on, a confidant for others. No matter who or what they are. Awesth doesn't judge. Everyone, to Awesth, is beautiful in their own special way. He knows that they just need a little love and care to shine. He understands that people do things they don't think, faranth knows he has his own flaws. It's natural to feel sad, or angry, or to want to let it all out. Awesth understands that. Unfortunately, Awesth keeps his own emotions bottled up inside. He can be quite a hypocrite when it comes to his advice.

Despite all this, he is not a bright dragon. He is naive and gullible, willing to trust people he should definitely not trust. Hell, he'd probably be willing to nap with Salvador if the man was so inclined. Awesth wants to get along with everyone, and in doing so he abandons common sense and trusts the worst people ever. He always looks on the bright side, something that is definitely a double edged blade. One day, if his rider is not careful, Awesth will get hurt because of his trusting nature.

For Flights, Awesth is not interested. He's looking for something meaningful and deep, a permanent snuggle and nap partner. But once he gets that mate? He'd follow them to the ends of the earth. It doesn't matter if they're dragon, wher, or terribling. Of course, his usual aversion to Flights is averted whenever he sees a poor dragon up alone in the sky. His willingness to please has him going back on that moral often, and when a female dragon looks sad and down on her special day, he just can't resist taking to the sky and telling her just how lovely she is.
