Ester is a normal citizen that is involved in Noctis' journey for a certain period of time as a secondary character. She can be hired from the Chocobo farm as a support for some hunting missions, though she is not a playable character. She has red-orange hair, most of the time kept in a half-ponytail, and big turquoise eyes. She has a birthmark on her right shoulder that reminds of the Scutum (shield) Constellation, but she hardly ever shows this to anyone. Personality She is a bright and smart girl, always ready to joke around a little. Despite appearing mature, she has some sort of childish attitude when she gets too happy or excited. StoryHistory Ester was born in Altissia, but attended elementary and high school in Insomnia, because of her mother's work. It is here that she meets for the first time both Noctis and Prompto, but after returning to Altissia she forgets them while growing up. The Meet Up One day, working at the Chocobo Farm, she notices four strange men, asking for a room to stay. Wiz, the farm owner, offers them the caravan in exchange for them to take down Deadeye, the behemot that had been hunting the area for days. These men will reveal themselves as the Prince Noctis and his companions. Given the deep hate she feels towards royals, she is immediately self-conscious of their presence. Relatioships Noctis Lucis Caelum At first Ester doesn't feel a strong sympathy toward Noctis, mostly for its royal origins. Their first interactions can be considered kinda awkward and even rude sometimes. She doesn't remain disappointed since Noctis doesn't reveal himself as the classic spoiled and rude prince (well... not excessively) but she's surprised by his morals and selflessness. Noctis doesn't minimally remember her from when they met for the first time in elementary school, neither does Prompto, probably because they talked very little, but she does. As time passes by, Ester becomes attached to him, and Noctis to her. She sometimes thinks of him as her "emotional refuge", since he's the first one she reveals some personal information to. For some mysterious reason and despite the horrible first impressions, there comes good chemistry between them. When Ester finds out, ten years in the future, that to save the world Noctis must sacrifice himself, she can't accept that so easily. Nonetheless she understands what must be done so tries to give him reassuring words of support, but at some point in Hammerhead, before the four friends leave for the palace, she cries in front of everyone for the first time and tell him how much he helped her but, unable to be honest with her feelings, cannot tell him how much she cares for him.  Prompto Argentum Prompto/Ester here  Ignis Scientia Ester sees Ignis as "her main source of joy", referring to the food, of course. The evening meal is the most awaited moment for her, throughout the day, and is one of the moments where her childish behaviour takes over. She is the only one that doesn't discard any type of food and doesn't have particular preferences: she eats everything and a lot, always offering to take care of Noctis' vegetables. Ignis doesn't mind, in fact he feels even more appreciated. Despite all this, however, Ester enjoys teasing the serious and stoic character of him. He is in charge of teaching Ester how to fight with magic, and thanks to him she becomes quite stronger. When Ignis loses his sight, she doesn't know how to approach him anymore, making their interactions quite difficult at first, but during the ten years they spend together she recognizes his uunfaltering will and acts normal again around him.  Gladiolus AmicitiaEster is pretty intimidated by Gladio, perhaps because of his powerful appearances, but eventually she learns to see him as a great ally and also a loyal friend. Gladio gradually turns her into another younger sister who has to take care of. Gladio teaches her the basics of sword fighting, seeing in her some potential but that can't get out of her altogether. Ester is not exactly the most athletic girl out there...  Iris AmicitiaThe two girls get along since they first met. Not being able to stay together for a long time, Iris would like to share with her some solitary moments "for girls", but Ester is not very attracted by the idea, even if Iris manages to drag her along. She is the first to realize a real feeling of love from Ester towards Prompto (which immediately panics Ester...) BlaBla Her dear cockatoo with a bad attitude. She bought him in Insomnia from where she used to work in an animal shop, and she immediately loved him. He is a very intelligent and talkative parrot that can imitate human language. Since his master is very dangerous when she tries to cook something, he is scared that one day she will cook him by mistake. He has the particular ability to find Ester wherever she is, even if he disappears from sight for a long time. She doesn't really know how, but maybe he never actually goes too far away but follows her from a distance. He loves flying freely in the sky, but when the night comes, he is scared of every moving thing.
