Born into a poor and unstable family, Regi had quite a troublesome youth. He grew up together with his older brother Daryll, abusive father and drug addict mum. Regi was a very likable, intelligent kid. However he had always been quite insecure and really needed the approval of everyone around him, in which he differed a lot from his older brother. 

Not getting this approval or attention from his parents, left a great mark on young Regi. He became more quiet and observing, developing some weird tendencies. In his younger years he was bullied a lot because of his odd behavior. However, at 17 Daryll moved out and took 13 year old Regi with him. In his new high school, Regi decided to do things differently. Because of his observational skills, he figured out quite well how people were put together. With often some trial and error at first, he knew exactly how to get into someone's head. Soon enough he figured out that with only a few words, he was capable of manipulating nearly everyone. This gave him a sense of power and control which he had been longing for since his unstable youth.

However, Daryll lost his job and had to go into the army. Regi had never been as physically strong as his brother, so he didn't join him. Since Regi was only 15 years old, he could not stay in his brothers old apartment, forcing him to live with his parents for a few more years. This did not go well for Regi, since he was no longer the quiet and easy going kid he used to be. This lead to a whole lot of arguments and fights, which ended in him being kicked out. For a few months he had to couch surf by his friends until he finally found a job and managed to get his own apartment. He now works a double job and lives in a small, yet comfortable apartment. With some financial support from his brother he is now capable of going to college.

After Daryll came back, Regi did not move in with him again. Regi has a specific dislike against his girlfriend which caused the brothers' relationship to deteriorate. Whereas Daryll was capable of leaving his past behind him, Regi was not. He comes across as a charming, young gent but is in fact very mentally unstable, together with some serious attachment issues.

Regi met Mist at a friend's party. She was a sweet, very insecure girl and they matched quite well. Mist fell in love with him, something Regi was quite used to. However, when he himself started to develop feelings as well, things got out of hand. In his childhood he only had a somewhat healthy relationship with his brother. Due to the lack of love, he had no idea how to open up to someone. Mist managed to receive his trust and let him open up to her. Problem is that for the first time, Regi was feeling some sort of attachment. This scared him, since he was obsessed with being in control of everything, including his emotions. This caused him to become overly possessive of Mist, trying to control her every move. He loved her dearly, but their relationship is very toxic and abusive.
