The Accursed
"Um..."
Nagi grew up alone. He never knew his parents, and has not known much beyond the struggle to survive. By some miracle, he was able to find someone who taught him hunting and gathering, and he grew proficient at it in the years he spent surviving on his own. His obvious draconic heritage got him chased out of the village he was born in, and has left him wary and afraid of others, always expecting the worst of them. Some time after he was ambushed by bandits aiming for one of his kills, and he picked up a sword left on one of their bodies. He took to it well.
Nagi is lonely, but afraid to get close. He's grown strong enough to defend himself over the years, but trepidation still sits in his heart. Still, he is a gentle, kind man, who will help anyone who needs it without expecting much in return. He hopes someday to find somewhere he feels both safe and at home.

Personality
Cautious
Even before his capture, Nagi was wary of both his surroundings and others. He is slow to trust and easily spooked. A light sound is enough to wake him from sleep. In a second he’ll be on his feet with sword in hand, but he's rarely ever the first to lash out. He treads with careful purpose, head ever on a swivel.
Kindhearted
Despite his timidness towards others, Nagi is a kind man. He will help most who ask, never expecting a reward. He is particularly soft towards those who cannot fight for themselves, and will step in to defend them where they cannot defend themselves.
Steadfast
While it’s hard to ease him out of his shell, once Nagi trusts someone, he will do almost anything to see them safe. He is loyal to a fault, and a fearless fighter-a strange contrast to how cautious he is out of it, taking many off guard. He analyzes opponents quickly, and is surprisingly tenacious, shrugging off hits that would fall a lesser man.
Timid
Years of cruelty and mistreatment have left Nagi fearful of others' intentions. He will often avoid others if possible, to the point he will use the little magic he has to send a shimmering clone of himself to barter rather than speak himself. As a result, his voice is often raspy with disuse.
Resourceful
Nagi is usually in the wilderness, rarely venturing to any trader or town. He rarely needs to-he is able to find most everything he needs on his own. It’s all he’s ever known, but he’s made something of an art of it. Recently, he’s taken to fixing up an abandoned farmstead he found.
Lonely
A sort of sadness always seems to follow Nagi, and it’s rare to see him smile-it seems to haunt him, causing him to huddle deeper under tattered blankets or creep closer to the fire. He yearns to have someone beside him, to have some source of comfort when he’s so constantly alone. His fear keeps him from others, and only makes him lonelier. On especially cold nights, he can be found huddled in the arms of his clone.
Skills
Fire Breath
While horrific, there's no denying the power the experiments done to Nagi gave him He hides this ability whenever possible, almost as if ashamed. When he does use it to its full extent, the flames are enough to singe bone.
Draconic Resilience
Nagi can endure far more than he ought to, fighting past the point of exhaustion. Because of this, he tends to push himself too hard, going until he's on the brink of collapse. It gives him some resistance to the elements, though he still hates to be cold.
Mimic Tear
Incapable of regular magic, Nagi sacrifices his own blood to feed the tear. It takes his form and his face, as well as his abilities-though he uses it more for social needs than combat.

Story
Around the age of seventeen, Nagi found employment as a guard for a family. It kept a roof over his head, and they were kind enough to him-enough so that he grew fond of them over time, and their young daughter would often bother him to come play when he was off duty. For a few years his life was steady, and he was happy enough.
Everything changed when a group of rogue sorcerers came through. Nagi found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, and he was dragged away as the estate went up in flames. He never found out what happened to his employers. He hopes he bought them enough time to make it out, but he’ll never know.
For three years, he did not see the sun. Nagi was exactly what they were looking for-someone with enough draconic blood. His body was receptive to their experiments, changing as the torture took its toll on him. What was once barely noticeable in passing became clear at a glance. His ears grew pointed. His teeth sharpened. His eyes grew dark and bright, though only one of them retains its sight. He hid the strength it gave him, along with his breath, acting broken until an opportunity presented itself.
He escaped nearing his 24th birthday, though he had long since lost track of the day. All he left was a trail of corpses behind him, burned far past recognition. He fled into the snow, weak and starving, but determined to survive.
Today
Nagi roams from place to place. He hunts and gathers, occasionally venturing into town to buy supplies to shore up his new home. The farmstead was falling apart when he found it, but time and effort has made it at least somewhat livable. His horse can often be found stabled outside, and a soft glow from the fire within.
On his travels, he found a mage with a branch through their side. He didn’t know how they’d survived the fall from the cliffs above, but he helped them as best he could. This single act of kindness earned him a friend for life, even if he doesn’t know it yet. The two travel together now, and for the first time since he can remember, Nagi finds himself happy.
